Worse still, it was mostly Austrians who did the dying rather than the Hungarians.

The Russian forces captured it in fine style. The French were not passive however. They unexpectedly attacked our undefended right flank. Fortunately, we had our batteries on a wonderful hill. I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Tuesday's battle was a pyrrhic victory for the Russian army near Bad Abbach. The French occupied a strong position on the hills south of the town. However, superior Russian tactics dislodged them and allowed the capture of the town.

The German/Dutch allies put up a far stronger fight than their cowardly British masters, but even they were unable to halt the French juggernaut.

The Austrians deployed a defense in depth and simply wore us down. Who would have thought the Austrians were capable of such things. affraid
