targeting artillery targets
I have noticed that artillery (and infantry) show distance to potential targets and if in range, a variety of targets. Then before actually firing, the message in the upper left says "targeting.) does this mean that artillery and foot must have this targeting message before they can fire? If under command of a leader, will artillery choose the most appropriate shell to fire, i.e. shrapnel when close to enemy?
I also notice that cavalry seem to prevent infantry from following brigade or division orders to move toward cavalry even at long distances. This is so even if given agressive orders like probe or even charge. I have tried putting brigades in square and then ording a move toward cavalry when I do not have any artillery to fire at the cavalry, but the foot just will not move, it seems when they are within 500 yeads or so unless I move each square individually, usually requiring each by TC orders. The cavalry will charge when the foot get closer and the squares must be halted before the cavalry get within about 100 yards or so, or the squares break. Is there any other way to handle moving entire brigades or divisions toward enemy that include cavalry?
Thanks
Saucier

Re: targeting artillery targets
The KS Napoleon Mod has a Manuals subfolder which contains the KSNapoleonModManual. It explains all the changes the mod made to the stock AI and the reasoning behind those changes. Here you will find the answers to all your questions regarding artillery fire and square movements.
The only update I can remember is that the latest version of the mod, (available in the Download channel of our Discord channel), is that the infantry will now form squares when cavalry comes to within 350 yd. It was previously set to 450 yd.
