Re: Impromptu Games
Well 3 divisions were a bit much, 4 if you count Pat showing up eventually to "help." Still it was easier than fighting in the campaign.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Friday's battle was a grand victory over the British forces in Germany. The Austrians and Russians will need to think carefully about pursuing the war now that Prussia and Britain have been knocked out of it.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. On Sunday the French were once again handed a defeat at Ligny. Does that make 4 times or 5? Even the vaunted military genius of Patrice Dumpass could not find a path to victory. This scenario may indeed be a Kobiachi Maru.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. On Tuesday the Russians yet again dealt us another defeat. This is just like 1807 all over again. When will we have a Friedland?

A little surprising Napoleon hasn't had to sue for peace yet after these battles.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. As the saying goes, "If you can't beat them, join them." That is exactly what we did Friday, riding the Russian victory bus instead of being run over by it.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Tuesday's battle was a vicious little affair on the French center and right. I understand not much of consequence happened on the left. That's not surprising since Pat was there.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. On Friday, we Austrians managed to engage and defeat the French invaders. The restoration of the Holy Roman Empire will soon be made a reality.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. On Sunday the French did the unexpected and defeated the Russians as they tried to cross the Ogra River. We shouldn't let this black swan event go to our heads.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. On Tuesday the latest Kobiachi Maru scenario was finally beaten. The Russians were expelled from Ligny.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Friday's fight in the snows of Russia resulted in an overwhelming victory for French. This was, in no small way, due to Pat exiting the battle early.

Re: Impromptu Games
As I recall the battle, my brigade was on the pointy edge of the corps’ spear with Digby’s brigade on my right. Farther to my right, Grog and Phil drove the Russians before them. Kevin was somewhere far off to the left. It was hard to tell what he was doing. We were pretty sure we heard singing. Off key. And some frolicking.
I should be there today.

I'll come along and play the gay brigadier again. As long as I get some proper old school skirmishers this time

Re: Impromptu Games
just wanted to throw all participants of last night's baguette hunt a huge "thank you" - was a fun engagement for my first battle back!
I tried hard to make my division commander sweat as my battalions ran away - but I failed miserably at that... I may have lost my touch a bit...

I too was disappointed in your performance. You had a positive score for your first time out. Unacceptable. Please do better next time.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. On Sunday, the British/German forces managed to defeat the French in the hills of Spain. A remarkable outcome given, you know whom, was in charge.

Re: Impromptu Games
I shall be there today. Methinks it will be a campaign scenario battle so all brigade commanders are welcome to join!
Speaking of brigade commanders
Sunday was yet another victory and a great display of battlefield prowess by all my subordinate division and brigade commanders, save one, who claimed to have commanded a cavalry brigade. Further investigation revealed that in reality this un-named individual was spending time manufacturing complaints about everyone else and tasking his squadrons to ride to and fro in a frightful display of mediocrity
Ah well. The rest of us did the heavy lifting anyway
