Re: Impromptu Games
I withdrew so fast my shirkers were my rearguard. He even outpaced shirkers so they stayed with their battalions - well done, Sir
They weren't Austrians they were Grenzers, that evil and ferocious mix of Albanians, Croatians and (I think) Neanderthals. Even silver bullets wouldn't stop them! I had to gather up my skirts and run screaming like a girl.

Re: Impromptu Games
I wish my infantry similarly screamed like a girl when they retreated after suffering minimal casualties with nobody on their flank. Had they done so, I would have been alerted to their retrograde movements earlier, thus preventing me looking around at one point saying "Wait, where did my brigade go? They were just here shooting just a few minutes ago"

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Sunday's battle was a decisive victory in the Kobiachi Maru scenario. Laurel leaves for Miko. However, upon review, the umpires discovered that Capt. Kirk, aka Pat shamelessly cheated. Is anyone really shocked. The victory was disallowed.

Re: Impromptu Games
Grog you missed the newest scenario mode yesterday called “hunt Miko down” ... i mean the AI literally steered AWAY from objectives to try to kill him.

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Tuesday's fight was a completely symmetric battle. Each side attacked a lone division with three of its own. As reported elsewhere, Miko was on the receiving end for the human side. If not for the wisdom of one of his brigade commanders who withdrew his brigade to reorganize, he would have been left wholly unmanned.

Re: Impromptu Games
At least his division facing 3 AI ones did do a little better than the lone AI division facing 3 player ones. Not much, but a little.

I will be there today as well.
Wow - thank goodness for brilliant brigade commanders like you note Kevin. Where on earth would we be without such leaders?

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Friday's battle was going swimmingly until the French launched an attack into our rear. A certain division commander who was to prevent such an occurrence failed miserably.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Sunday's battle was a reverse hat trick. Of the three objectives, we captured zero. The scenario is now in the Pat Commands folder.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Tuesday battle was a hard fought one on everyone's favorite map, the Meckel map. The French were able to overcome a determined defense by the Austrian forces. This clears the way for the French to move into Prussian occupied territory.
