Weekend 5-6-7 november.
I can't play saturday. I will be available tomorrow friday and sunday. I have almost ready a competitive scenario for 8 players.
Any volunteers to play tomorrow friday?
People ready to play on sunday.

Re: Impromptu Games
I may be able to play Friday - so far I am not sure, a friend may be coming over for dinner or they may not. I just don't know yet.
Sunday is looking better. I'm 90% sure I'm free.
I can't make Saturday either - going out with friends to watch a good old-fashioned fireworks display and then scoffing at a pizza restaurant with probably a pub afterwards

Re: Impromptu Games
Is anyone around for a game today Saturday 14th? Same time same channel? I know Pepe has a adversarial scenario written for 8 players and Kevin has a co-op one for 3+.
I'll be in TS at 20:00 UK time in case anyone wants a casual battle.

Re: Impromptu Games
It would be nice to see the Brits come out to play again (either Spain or 100 days) and maybe one of the fictional Waterloo maps.
I installed the patch and all is working. The "Best" map detail setting in MP is now the best so that's fixed.
There's a new button in the toolbar OOB tree panel that says "Details" which brings up unit strength, condition, fatigue, etc. This is the stock game version:
In the KS mod though the text of the "Details" button which says "Less" when the details are opened is garbled and the morale status column is garbled too. As these are new additions to the GUI with the patch I guess that's why the KS mod doesn't load them correctly.
I didn't check but I hope these new options only let you look at your own side in SP and own troops in MP. If not I hope there is a way to restrict that information.
NSD fixed the wooden windmill model too. It looks better now and makes physical sense
Haven't tested couriers yet.
NSD didn't make the Hougoumont farm in the Waterloo PM map a fort
Everything else looks good that I've seen so far.

Re: Impromptu Games
I already fixed the text issues you described in the next version of the patch. What concerns me is this information is readily available to corps commanders. Also division and brigade commanders have full access to this information for all friendly troops.

Re: Impromptu Games
I noticed this added feature as well, and I noticed the difference in the KS mod and not. This might just need to be a "gentlemen's" agreement area that place will not use.

When I am not corps or army commander I don't give a fig what other people are doing. Especially if I am in my Hussar uniform. Then damn the ground pounders and clear the way.

Re: Impromptu Games
The river and large ponds at Maransart are Napoleon's principle frog farm in the region. The British need to capture it and then secure the area so they can pull all the legs off the frogs and burn them. This will leave the French army with no food supplies to continue the campaign in Belgium and force Napoleon to the negotiating table.

Re: Impromptu Games
The results of the battle put the French in a bad way. With the frog source captured, all of Paris will be rioting. This could be Napoleon's greatest crisis.

Re: Impromptu Games
My thanks to you for the introduction last night. I can see I will have a long way to go before being ready for anything nearing a divisional command
Re: Impromptu Games
Playing for the first time and playing HITS no less, you did very well. I had expected your command to be destroyed in the first 10 minutes of combat. Well played. A little more practice in moving the troops around and you'll soon have the hang of it.

Re: Impromptu Games
Above post refers to 20:00 GMT Saturday 28th Nov in case anyone was wondering.
The "bad frame in packet" desynch monster has re-awoken in the last couple of MP games and Kevin has been tracking down it's cause. From what he said to me in an e-mail it seems he's traced the culprit code so today's game will be a test plus if anyone needs more practice...

From the game on Friday, this was Gavin's second game and here are "Gavin's Grenzers" clearing up some mess at the end of the battle.

Re: Impromptu Games
If I send you one of my Peninsular OOBs maybe we could play a small French corps vs masses of AI Spanish? Something like the odds at Calatayud.
