Got a 50-50 chance of making it today. So ... What do you think he issue is? Last time symptoms (not root causes) appeared - at first glance - to be a combination of too many couriers running around and then for subsequent crashes not fully exiting game before restarting. Kinda weird. Anyway what do you think? What did you adjust?

Amazons?
Yes I did have to think about including such a powerful force in the game. I imagine the mounted grenadiers will flee in terror if they are approached by these men. affraid

What do you think he issue is?
It may have to do with how the random numbers used in the game are generated. We often see the game crashing at certain times, 36-38 minutes, 130-136 minutes, etc. This may indicated that after so many random numbers have been created, one or more computers become out of sync because they do not create the same random number. All the computers should. I've changed the method for their calculation. It's a long shot, but worth testing.

Replay.

A good game played well by everyone (well, almost everyone). Pepe and Sir Iron slaughtered one division that went up the hill to attack them. They then placed their troops across the path of the French couriers who were sent to ask the reserve division for help so we only had to massacre two enemy divisions.

Kevin's division was unaccountably "held up" by no less than three chasseur squadrons for most of the battle so I allocated him to night picket duty up on the mountain above the tree line while the rest of us had a party at the inn in Azambuja.

"Picket duty"...Outragous! You will find sir that the honourable General Charles Colville was, no doubt like myself, wrestling with the incompetence of the 'Prussian farm hands' under his command. It is an utter disgrace that we were both transferred without consultation and with no regard to great service that we have performed for our army in Spain.
We neither speak the native tongue nor understand the strange customs of these German troops. It is said that they eat dogs, for heavens sake! Why Wellington didn't assign an able KGL officer to these commands in most baffling.

Without delay, I will be requesting immediate transfer back to command of the British Guards brigade. I will support General Colville in any similar endeavour. I forward a recent assessment of the said General's attributes, should his abilities come into question:

Colville? Who is this Colville? The other senior British officer present was Clinton. It seems that Genl. Cooke may have left his brains in Spain along with his manners! Our loyal and brave German troops who won this tough battle despite the reluctance of both British officers to get to grips with the enemy would indeed prefer to see the backs of these incompetent fops.

Genl Pirch II was my only division commander to get stuck into his opponents and run them off the field!

I shall personally send word via Feldmarschall Blucher and Gen Muffling to His Grace the Duke to have the pair of you taken off my hands at once!

I would say that you fulfilled all that was expected of you. British army officer handbook gives guidance on loyalty behaviour but there are some gaps.

10%- Turn up

20%- Advance in the direction of the enemy, stop, then make appropriate derogatory gestures to enemy/CiC.

30%-

40%-

50%- Agree to eat at the same table as CiC

60%- Remark on how tasty you find Prussian cuisine but how German sausage doesn't agree with your constitutuion.

70%- Agree to taste the sausage.

80%- Eat a whole sausage.

90%-

100%-

Humble apologies, sir. Lets not be hasty here. I don't see any reason why the Duke needs to be informed of this matter.
Why not lets discuss this unfortunate misunderstanding over dinner?

May I suggest we dine on some of your finest German cuisine? Be sure to bring along plenty of sausages, I could eat a plate full and some more!

Yes, the intensity of Gen. Clinton's loyalty to his new Prussian master was palpable. A strong aura of (not) loyalty came wafting from over the trees behind which he and his division were hiding from less than 400 French light cavalry. No doubt after 30 minutes of this the stench of his own intense commitment to our cause was too much for him and he reluctantly edged cautiously forward to clean up the last dregs of the shattered French as they fled away from von Pirch's division. I must have missed quite a game there Wink

funnily enough I was out in the field and had to deal with a rather over enthusiastic Subaltern myself, who thought it would help the entire company a lot if he popped the entire supply of flares to "brighten" the night sky - he didn't worry about the colour, nor the direction he fired them towards...

apparently he even failed to realize that 120mm heavy mortars were illuminating with star shells.... (anyone who has seen it, knows that you can basically read the newspaper...)

he may be in the staff of a certain General Clintovsky

I’ve just watched the replay, and must admit to some dismay.

Notwithstanding the references to French light horse, there did not seem to be any cavalry at all!  Now I know that Grog and Diggers like nothing more than brawling in the mud with their rustic infantry chums.  But for those with finer sensibilities.......... well it must have been simply awful for you, my dears.  Perhaps this explains why Kevin (a natural cavalryman) found himself temporarily unmanned?

Of course, if the ReplayViewer display is at fault, that is a very serious matter, and its creator must be held to account Suspect

I'll let my gentlemen peers decide.

As I was preparing to advance, I reached into my waistcoat for my box of snuff. Gone. Some Prussian lout must have pinched it. Now I ask you, how can one join battle without first taking snuff? It simply can't be done. To make matters worse, I received a message from my Prussian "superior", telling me in the most appalling English to, "No use horsies. Save horsies. Now bad. Later good." How can I be expected to perform in such conditions? I'm not so sure we are fighting the correct army.
