Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Tuesday's 2:1 sprite game against the Russians ended in defeat. I don't think we really ever stood a chance.

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Friday's battle for Castego and Montebello was a difficult struggle. The French wisely decided to defend the high ground outside Castego. It took some time to defeat this force. At Montebello, they fortified the city. Most of the city was cleared by the end of the battle, but a 3rd French division was rapidly approaching.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. On Sunday, the Russo-Austrian army made a forlorn attempt to take the town of Eylau. The weather was far to cold for the Austrians. As a result, they were frozen in place, making an easy target for the French.

Re: Impromptu Games
Kevin, I'm struck by the magnitude of your modesty... I thought the narrative would be something like "Austrian advanced 100 paces, deployed in nice formation and as soon as they found out who was in charge of the French Corps they refused to make one step forward"

Re: Impromptu Games
Yes, that is all true of course, but I thought that the lack of my usual criticism of the Cinc's poor battle management was an indication that I was in charge.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Recently we have had a rush towards the record books with players putting up some impressive numbers. First Pat came in with 6 deaths in one game. That looked like a record that would stand the test of time. But in Tuesday's battle for Wavre, Phil came out of the gate fast and hard, netting 8 deaths in the town. Memorials to his accomplishment are being placed at nearly every intersection. Well done all!

Re: Impromptu Games
Hello,
I am new to this forum and wondered if there is a game being hosted today and if there is a sign up?
I have read the setup guide, joined the discord, and played ~30 hours of the Kriegsspiel mod.
Thanks

Yes there is a game today at 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Friday's battle was like being a Spartan facing the hoards at Thermopylae. We did better than expected but made only a small dent in the French Goliath.

I will join today
And if we wanted to, am happy to play AI commander and take y’all on. Careful scouting will allow me to allow safe passage to people like Roland whilst detecting undesirables such as Kevin and thus attacking him at the exclusion of all others. But am fine with all game options.
Perhaps sometime before Christmas we will resume the Campaign

Yes there is a game today at 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. On Sunday, the glorious Austrian Empire reclaimed a bit of its Italian possessions from the French peasantry. Can the re-establishment of the Holy Roman Empire be far behind?

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Sunday's fight along the ridge SE of Posen was a triumph for the Russian forces. The French made only a half-hearted attempt at contesting control of it.

Re: Impromptu Games
Sorry gents - work has had me rather busy of late (even the Government gets busy at times) and this weekend my kids will be flying in to see us (yes Kevin, Rhode Island actually has enough space for a small airport). So I am out until next Friday 10th.
I trust Roland will provide adequate counter balance to Kevin whilst I am away

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. In Sunday's battle, the French, who pursued the Prussians after the battle of Jena, caught up to them near the town of Zizmori. They suffered yet another defeat at the hands of the Emperor. With a certain someone absent from the field lately, it seems it is impossible to lose.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. On Friday the French managed to save Madam Fifi from the from the rapacious clutches of the Russians. Our rapacious clutches are much friendlier.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. On Sunday we received a rather rude shock, a defeat at the hands of the Austrians. Who would have thought it possible?

Re: Impromptu Games
Dispatches are still being sent back and forth between Paris and the frontlines (which are now along the Rhine but it would appear that our resident High Priest Kevin D. Kutuzov has lost for the second time in a row and has been seen galloping off the field with his staff desperately trying to catch up.
Voices are getting louder by the minute that he needs to be replaced by a certain unknown fisherman from a state called a "Rote Insel" - locals call him a "Charmead"? anyone know him perhaps?

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Tuesday's battle was an unfortunate setback for the Austrians. The good news is that before the French could reenact the battle of Cannae, darkness came and the fight ended.

The replay showed the French surrounding us on the flanks. It was a very good reenactment of Cannae.
