Friday's battle put the French to flight. Belgium is again safe for chocolate makers. Although relations between the Royal Dutch House and Britain soured when His Grace sent a congratulatory wheel of Stilton to the Prince for his smashing victory.

Sunday's battle was an overwhelming victory for the Russians. The French AI made the mistake of fighting the battle twice with only half his troops each time. By some miracle, we Russians stayed concentrated.

Tuesday battle was a disappointing loss for the army of Frederick the Great. The Prussians were unable setup Wurst factories at all the objectives. Culture and civilization will not be coming to Belgium.

I continued to improve the 3 hours in square system, this time in a forest, attacking up a steep hill. Much fun was had by all.

Friday's battle was remarkably a victory for the French. However since it was such a confused affair, it has been moved to the Pat Commands folder for future use.

Re: Impromptu Games
For Tuesday I think its just 4 of us. I can throw together a game on a small map. I understand Ehey wants to test his streaming techy stuff.
How's this:
Situation:
Action on the Rio Cavado
Northern Portugal, October 1809
The French, commanded by Comte Sebastiani have stolen a march on us and secured the crossings of the Rio Cavado. Such a position, if reinforced by them, would threaten our lines of communication with Corunna and we must push a force north west to retake the three vital crossings; west of Ruivanans, at the Melgasso Bridge and at Abrigados village.
Intelligence:
Our allies, the Portuguese have reported that at least one enemy division is at Ruivanans although this could be a stronger force. We are unsure if the enemy plans to reinforce his position or not but we should assume he will.
Objectives:
Secure the three points indicated on our maps by 6:00pm. Ensure no French can threaten any of these crossings, especially from the west or north-west. Keeping all enemy on the east bank of the Cavado is imperative.
Forces:
Army of Portugal: Lt Gen Sir John Moore (11335 Inf. 2718 Cav. 36 Guns)
Hamilton's Portuguese Division: Maj Gen John Hamilton (4674 Inf. 1002 Cav. 12 Guns)
Leith's Brigade: Maj Gen Sir James Leith (1747 Inf. 4 battalions Avg. Exp. 5.6)
Harvey's Portuguese Brigade: Brig Gen William Munday Harvey (2927 Inf. 5 battalions Avg. Exp. 4.4)
von Arentschildt's Brigade: Lt Colonel von Arentschildt (1002 Cav. 2 light regiments Avg. Exp. 6.5)
Arriaga's 1st Portuguese Artillery Coy.: Capt Romao de Arriaga (6 Guns Avg. Exp. 5.0)
Elliot's Coy. RA: Capt Edward Elliot (6 Guns Avg. Exp. 6.0)
3rd Division: Lt Gen MacKenzie Fraser (3488 Inf. 948 Cav. 12 Guns)
von Alten's Light Brigade: Brig Gen Baron Charles von Alten (1881 Inf. 4 battalions Avg. Exp. 6.2)
Anstruther's Brigade: Lt Col Robert Ross (1607 Inf. 4 battalions Avg. Exp. 6.2)
Otway's Portuguese Cavalry Brigade: Lt Col Loftus Otway (948 Cav. 3 light regiments Avg. Exp. 4.0)
Arriaga's 2nd Portuguese Artillery Coy.: Capt Pedro de Arriaga (6 Guns Avg. Exp. 4.0)
Bull's Troop RHA: Capt Robert Bull (6 Guns Avg. Exp. 7.0)
4th Division: Maj Gen G. Lowry Cole (3173 Inf. 768 Cav. 12 Guns)
Ellis' Brigade: Lt Col Henry W. Ellis (1551 Inf. 5 battalions Avg. Exp. 6.5)
Disney's Brigade: Brig Gen Moore Disney (1622 Inf. 4 battalions Avg. Exp. 5.2)
von Bock's KGL Dragoon Brigade: Maj Gen Baron von Bock (768 Cav. 2 heavy regiments Avg. Exp. 7.0)
Ross' Troop RHA: Capt Hew Dalrymple Ross (6 Guns Avg. Exp. 7.0)
Cleeves' 4th Coy. KGA: Capt Andrew Cleeves (6 Guns Avg. Exp. 6.0)

Guys
I'm away on holiday but if you decide to test out Streaming, would there be any chance of providing a link to view for a bit on my Smartphone?
If I get a good enough signal, that is, as the Wi-Fi at the Cottage has been removed.

You could contribute some comments, like "Phil! There's a tree!" and "That looks like a nice spot for lunch" and other tactical insights.

Re: Impromptu Games
Hello and welcome to the forums. We are having a game today in fact at our usual time of 19:00 GMT, 14:00 USA EST. You can take a brigade for your first outing if you are comfortable with that. Have you got Discord installed and a mic with push-to-talk setup? We use voice comms to do all the pre-battle planning but then in the game we communicate only via the courier system.
Please make suer you have all three mods installed and activated.
Do you have Norbsoft's SoW Gettysburg as well? We sometimes use some maps from that.
I expect one of our team will be live streaming the game again today, so you'll be famous!
I will put up today's scenario soon.

Re: Impromptu Games
I have done 3 variants of the same scenario. Its a battle from the little-known Prussian invasion of Spain in spring 1806. After Trafalgar with Spain's fleet destroyed and her coastline open to invasion, Britain paid Prussia a subsidy of 50,000 portions of salted pork and chips and 37,000 hogsheads of warm beer in return for King Wilhelm sending an expeditionary force to attack Spain. Escorted by the fleet that had won Trafalgar a convoy of transports anchored in Santander Bay and within a week a force was marching east to attack and secure Zaragossa on the Rio Ebro. Zaragossa being a regional manufacturing centre of tomato ketchup which the Prussian troops knew was essential to put on their English fried potatoes.
The scenario I've created involves either 3 vs 3 players with the Spanish defending some road junctions that provide the main route to Zaragossa against a Prussian attack, or either a 3 or 4 division Prussian corps attacking against a larger AI controlled Spanish force in defence.
I'll put up the details when we know how many players we have and what people would prefer but here is the map and the tactical situation which is generally similar for all three variants.

Re: Impromptu Games
Thank you, i'll be there!
Yes a brigade is good for me and i have discord.
The three mods are installed plus the realistic smoke one.
Sadly i don't have SOW GB.
Thats great you stream your battles, do you do it on youtube?
Speaking about the scenario, i like all three versions, with a preference for Prussian side.

Welcome Morhys! - eventually French player made it to our small community!
Digby - Great you've made the scenario. I would probably fail to make one on time today.
Grog - I'd advise you to install Discord app on your phone - you'd be able to see any posted links and join chat and say Hi even from your Caribbean Island
