Re: Impromptu Games
I am good for a game today.
And Kevin/Miko to be 100% clear on this, I plan to show up when the BIG hand on my clock is on the 12 and the LITTLE hand is on the 2 since I reside in Eastern Standard Time. That’s 1900 Zulu or GMT to the rest of the world.
Sunday’s game saw my infantry division - which included a massive 11-battalion brigade —squarely positioned upon my assigned objective at 1800 hours. By way of comparison: Kevin’s division was the farthest removed in linear distance from either objective. Hard to argue with facts.

well.. I hope this one with one BIG hand and one LITTLE hand is more reliable than the one with both LITTLE hands...

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Having the best vantage point during the battle on Sunday. It was apparent that Pat's division involved itself in a completely superfluous fight for most of the day. Had there been even a soupcon of diligence in that HQ, we could have achieved victory.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Tuesday's fight is summed up in one word, defeat. Hopefully, we can start the new year off differently.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Friday's battle was cut short by technical difficulties. They should be fixed for today.

Re: Impromptu Games
If it works then I strongly suggest we use the first save (when my artillery and Phil's battalion is still alive).

That's fine, I hope you have a copy because I don't. Otherwise we could just start over.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Sunday's battle was a great victory for the Prussian army, proving its reorganization had the desired effect. Pat having only an inconsequential command might have helped too.

Re: Impromptu Games
I will be there. Hopefully this time the bulk of our cavalry will be in proximity to the bulk of the enemy cavalry so that we are not in the position of relying on militia to capture the objectives.

Re: Impromptu Games
Ah yes the “inconsequential command” was otherwise known as my corps consisting of Ehey’s, Phil’s and Vince’s division. And if it pleases the court, your honor, we offer as evidence the documented capture of all 3 objectives by these division commanders with Al in support with a brigade.
And somewhere 1 1/2 miles south of us doing something I guess was Kevin’s command. Apparently the French were more interested in defending a roadside tavern than most of the objectives.
Also of note: We pioneered new tactics
Ehey has his new “cavalry-seeking” skirmishers designed to trip up horses during the inevitable trampling. Vince found innovative ways to absorb artillery fire with infantry. Phil pioneered the use of mobile tree houses.
All in all a turning point in the evolution of military doctrine.
I cannot make today - see you Friday

I think we can thank the midi-chlorians to have allowed my Jedi cavalry to freeze a whole French division during 2 hours and a half !

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Yes, Tuesday's battle was a great victory for the Austrians in Spain. Wellington could have learned a few things had he been present.

No pressure, but we're on a bit of a winning streak here. You're primed to either unremarkably continue us on our winning streak or to bring a catastrophic end to it.

We did some more testing on Sunday and turns out we need to be more careful about which save file we use after a crash.

Re: Impromptu Games
Not to spread idle rumors Kevin but I think one problem with that map was the fact that you had a brigade on it that was about to get overrun. Might have played into the sudden “crashes”

Re: Impromptu Games
That's always possibility... I guess that even more likely to happen if the same time you're present on the battlefield... Kevin had no problem suffering defeat under Grog's leadership, though... however, still claimed he was the one doing "heavy lifting"... Although, I wouldn't disagree if he claimed he contributed into battle way more than Phil did...
