Dealing with brigade commander insubordination is bad enough as a division commander. Even worse when it comes from a brigade in the -other- division of my 2-division Corps to the point where that other division commander (Miko) sought clarification as to who truly worked for whom

“Hand holding.” Hah!! Such delusions of grandeur are par for the course.

I will be forced to write a letter to the next CinC in very strong language to warn him of the infectious disease of insubordination and its very own “typhoid Mary” in our midst.

France decided 1 month lockdown again... At least good news for Scourge of War impromptu Games . I will have plenty of opportunities to improve my strategy and tactics skills.

Tuesday's battle, although a defeat went better than expected. But with that certain player in command of a division, the result was never really in doubt.

Friday's battle ended in an Austrian defeat due to a ponderously, slow moving Austrian army, (is there any other kind?). The French remained in control of the Hostomitz Strasse. Phil's new map with European buildings looks great and now requires better vegetation. He insists on a lot of tall crops and sunflowers, of course, so be prepared for only seeing flags moving about the battlefield.

Phils map has tree-like sunflowers I would imagine. Portable latrines every 800 yards or so along major roads. The forests would be dense with a Vauban-inspired fortification in the middle of each. Posted around the periphery would be signs saying “no cavalry allowed”. And whereas all our maps are rectangular, I suspect Phils would be in the shape of the state of Louisiana. Educated guess

I will be there.  One last match before the internet goes out and the world goes silent.  

I think I can make it but if I did I would be an hour late (am teaching until 1500EST) and would be fine taking a brigade even if it was in a precarious position (exception: don’t give me a brigade that is detached and disengaging due to casualties).

Excellent idea Miko ! I also suggest to make the game a little more spicy by adding a random generator of fake news in the scout report system.

Sadly I won't be able to make it today, I've got to clean out the bunker for when the Proud Boys come. I also can't accept the results of that IQ test if it puts New Jersey ahead of Pennsylvania. That's just nonsense. People in New Jersey can't even pump their own gas.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Tuesday's battle was another loss for the Russians trying to take Pont du Mousson. The French deployed a perfect defense to our battleplan. It almost makes one think there is a spy at our war table.

Maybe we can adjust the courier system slightly to enable an “insult generator” much like the scenario generator. Menu-based selections of desired characteristics of the insult you wish to hurl upon someone. It would really help my communications when Kevin is in my command chain.

The hapless Austrians were on the receiving end again, but made things difficult but collapsed in the end, as they always do. Today, I think we should be of the Spanish persuasion.
