Re: Impromptu Games
First British War of Aggression? That would be the Angles vs the Celts then? We are proud of our tradition, it goes way back.

Re: Impromptu Games
Yeah maybe you will show up Joe!!
Kevin, I have a French v Russian PvAI we can do. Sort of based it on Borodino but the Russian's defend the high ground instead of leaving it. The French have the numbers but we have the slopes of the Big Sur map.
Let me know if you need something else to be created for today.

Re: Impromptu Games
Sorokino, 1807.
Napoleon's main army is to the ENE of the region of Yakshino and behind it, running westwards to his principal depots, is a major supply and logistics route that runs west to Yadrovo and beyond.
Fel'dmarshal Mikhail Kamensky has decreed that to hinder the French progress eastwards this supply road must be closed, or at least threatened so that the French will have to reroute their lines of communication. This should delay their progress sufficiently until the heavier snows of deep winter bring the campaign to a halt, allowing Russia to open diplomatic channels and seek a negotiated peace.
The Russians have, in accordance with these instructions, despatched a cavalry corps to the south-west and it arrived yesterday evening a few miles south of Murikovo. Shortly after dawn light cavalry patrols from the Russians encountered French mounted chasseur patrols just south of Murikovo. It appears a French force is stationed along their supply road, or was moving along it, in a position favourable to move south from Yakshino and cover their communications.
The Russians must get at least a brigade to Sorokino by the end of the battle, where its presence will be sufficient to threaten the French vulnerable transport columns and force them to re-route their supply route to a parallel road further north.
Yakashino will have a garrison; it is not necessary nor desirable to attack the town directly.
Rakovo Mountain may only be crossed on the road at the pass of Rakovo, or by the river valley west of Sorokino. However troops may operate on the eastern slopes of the mountain, though they may not cross the ridgeline nor enter any forests that crown the ridge.
This is a 2-hour long player vs player game and will require 6 players, 8 if the respective C-in-Cs do not command divisions.
We can play this any time we get enough people in TS, I can play tonight.
Respective briefings will be issued at the time but if two C-in-Cs wish to volunteer I can send these by e-mail sooner.

Re: Impromptu Games
I've put together a PvsAI game we can play at the usual time today, 20:00 BST, 15:00 EST.
As the army of Archduke Charles withdraws to the east, Maréchal Lefebvre's VII Corps has been sent in pursuit. A lack of cavalry support has slowed the advance as the infantry has had to feel its way forward. All information gathered has come from the local civilian population.
Most reports indicate that a large concentration of Austrian troops are deployed around the village of Semeiking. However there have also been worrying reports of enemy forces in the north and south.
The Emperor has belatedly dispatched a cohort of cavalry to help you in the pursuit. They are expected to arrive within the hour. In the meantime, you must press the Austrian rearguard. You cannot delay.
Objective: Cross the Ogra, pin and destroy the Austrian forces at Semeiking.
