I can play Friday if anyone is around. I'm getting Russian 12pdr position battery withdrawal symptoms.

Re: Impromptu Games
I'll put a scenario together for Friday with the Russians present. Perhaps I can coax General Borozdin back into the saddle. I understand his milliner has been busy and has just delivered a large consignment.

If its less that 2 wagonloads we may have to cancel the battle.

Re: Impromptu Games
I panicked that the KS forum was down today on other forums... so, are you planning a battle today?

Re: Impromptu Games
It looks like Friday will be the day for a battle. Also it is likely that we will have a fight on Sunday on the Meckel map.

Re: Impromptu Games
Uncle Billy and I are planning to play Waterloo tomorrow (Monday), and wondered if anyone else would like to join us. All welcome.
Regrettably, family commitments mean that I need to finish early, so the start time is 19.00 (UK time) That's an hour earlier than usual.
Hope that's not a problem for anyone.

Good to hear you are still around Martin. Is the new PC working well? I can make Monday.

Re: Impromptu Games
Yeah, I can make it tommorow and starting an hour earlier would be actually better for me as I live in GMT +2. I've gotten used to the late games as my studies usually allow a late start of the day but it's always nice to get an hour or two of sleep more

Re: Impromptu Games
Hi guys
Glad you can both make it. So that's at least 4 of us tomorrow. Can we meet in T/S just before 19.00?
Yes Diggers, my new PC means I can now play Waterloo with all elements functional. Finally. Whether this means I will be any more effective is another question entirely!

Jolly good. Perhaps you can take up the reins of General San Juan again in the campaign.

Be careful with Andrew, he is more dangerous than a piranha in a swimming-pool.

Re: Impromptu Games
I'd like to play a good game Sunday. Maybe a peninsula themed setting? We have never done a Salamanca or Victoria era scenario.

Re: Impromptu Games
Probably due to their one-sidedness
By 1812 when the full British army is in Spain and the French replacements dry up due to the need to send the army to Moscow, the whole pack of cards comes tumbling down. I think an 1810 or 1811 period fight would be better, say an Albuera or Fuentes type game.
I think our KS_OOB for the Peninsular is a bit lacking on troop/uniform variations. We'd need to either issue a new OOB for the mod or build a special OOB and issue a names file minimod like I do for the campaign games.
Let me see if I can do something for Sunday. My scenarios tend to germinate when I find a good map that has the feel of the original battlefield. If I can find a Fuentes or Albuera-like chunk of terrain I could make a scenario based on one of those battles.

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 20:00GMT, 15:00EST.
The supply depot at Sakallen is vital to the Russian offensive. Reports of a French corps led by Marechal Ney, approaching from the south has forced General Bagration rush the troops of General Borozdin to the town to prevent the destruction of the warehouses.
Objective: The French must capture and hold the town with at least 1,000 men for 15 minutes. This will signal the destruction of the depot. The Russians, of course must prevent this.
This battle can be fought as either co-op, (French), or PvP.

I can't be there tonight gents, I am crunching through campaign reports and correspondence. I think also one battle of the intensity of Silberberg is enough to last me a week. Have a good fight!
