I think we could make the allies with 7 players, with Moore taking the cavalry and 1 division, and maybe with 6 if we find someone men enough to take the Spanish 2nd and 6th cavalry. Twisted Evil

I really wish you'd have left the OOB as it was (sans Soult of course) as it's difficult to have an exact refight to see what would have happened without the exact OOB as when I take over the Spanish and deal a severe defeat to the French comments of "if we had our reserve artillery" will be made! Very Happy

I really believe that the English troops are so good that in a straight up refight of this, the Guard will be fighting for it's life and Victor will need to spend 2 divisions dealing with them leaving only a single division to take on the Spanish hordes. I guess that's why they fight the battles, to see if these theories are correct.

I also think that in the refight we can make due with less commanders. For example, I'm pretty comfortable running a full infantry division and cavalry division or 2 Infantry Divisions. It's not ideal, but I can do it and I'm sure there are other folks comfortable with running more stuff as well. I think if we can get 10 folks, we can give it a go hopefully. Again, it's not ideal, but will be great fun to have such a large battle!

I'll put the guns back. I mainly took them away as its yet another element that Victor has to handle including his corps plus a division.

I'm a little busy with things to make a scenario but a few of us could always do a fun refight of Cervera or Oropesa Wink

I'm fine also with a sandbox-y Fontenoy or Blenheim game or a co-op game of the LBH mod.

I shall be online at 20:00 BST / 21:00 CET today just in case.

I'll be available for a game. I can throw something together if I have an idea of how many will be playing. So far I count 4.

I've thrown together a Blenheim mod scenario. It needs about 4 to 5 players a side but if we don't get enough we can play it co-op vs the AI.

Impromptu Games - Page 8 Donauwerth

The Austrian army has made a rapid march west and captured the Bavarian town of Donauwerth. However during the night a French force has come up from the south and occupied the Schellenberg Height that dominates the town as well as the Austrian line of communications to the east. The French have quickly thrown up earthworks atop the Schellenberg and are threatening to move forces north east to cut the Austrian road.

The Austrians must drive the enemy from the Schellenberg and secure this dominating height.

We'll be using the Schellenberg map from the Blenheim mod which modifies the Culp's Hill map considerably with lots of extra defences. It also deletes all the roads. Be aware of this as it makes the road march order irrelevant.

You only need the Blenheim Mod and the Blenheim Grenadiers Mod; activate them both, in that order. No other mods should be activated but you can use visual mods such as Jolly's/GCM terrain, smoke, etc. Please set your trees density to 75%.

It can also be held over to another time if people would rather play something else.

Sorry Kevin, posted as you were posting. By all means suggest something else if Blenheim proves to not be so popular as other periods.

Hm, not tried the Crimea mod yet either. Brits storming up the Heights of Alma has appeal.

The Blenheim mod is akin to watching paint dry. Anything else would be preferable.

Its not that bad. It has its tactical nuances.

Would you like to put together a Prusso-French 1806 fight? That's something I'd like to see!

I can put an 1806 scenario together. If it's a co-op game, the AI will be French. Does everyone have the Chancellorsville expansion? We can try a modified map.

For those that don't, it's on sale for $14.99, 1/2 price. http://www.matrixgames.com/products/447/details/Scourge.of.War:.Chancellorsville

Don't have it yet. Was going to purchase it on Friday but it was labor day down here and no one went in to pull the money lever. Time to find a new bank.

If something changes let me know.

Could we use one of the new random maps you made up Kevin? Several are set with Prussian names.
