New at Kriegsspiel 1824
Hello all
New KS wargamer from Denmark. Just looking through the 1824 rules from TFL, printed maps and created pieces... We are 3 guys so far who are planning to play a couple of scenarios to start learning how the game mechanics work. In case anyone from DK is here not too far from Copenhagen, feel free to contact me if you'd like to join.

Hi MKH and welcome to the forum.
I'm too far from Copenhagen (and indeed Denmark), but good luck with your game.
Just a suggestion, but with 3 you might consider having one side umpire-driven, leaving both players on one side. Half the fun of k/spiel is the difficulties of communication by courier, which gives rise to delays and often hilarious misunderstanding. With just one player a side you don't have that.

Hi and thanks.
Yes, I will do this what you suggest, first thing I have done is I play small scenarios by myself, just to test out the movement, combat etc. Once I feel more confident, we will try out as a group.

Venligst Hilsen fra London!
Very pleased to see some Danish interest in Kriegsspiel, since I worked in Copenhagen a few years and attended a wargame club (in the Valby – Vigerslev area as I recall) a few times, before returning to London in 1990, and hitching up with the Gaddesden group on the northwest outskirts of London (Martin is a founding member).
HERE you will find a photo of our club in session, with Martin second from left, and me in the middle. Of course we have not been meeting during the Covid lockdown.
I design some of the Gaddesden games, and for some time have had an ambition to run a scenario from one of the Danish or Scanian wars. I would be interested if you know of any electronic maps of a suitable scale and period for this purpose.
One of our members did actually run an excellent game on the Danish Viking invasions of England a few years ago. I played a Danish warband which raided successfully until I got caught by a superior Anglo Saxon army with my back to a river, and crushed! In this connection you may find the website HERE interesting.
Hope to hear more from you in the future. Skriv gerne paa dansk!
