Maybe I'll start recording for YouTube and edit shots from different perspectives together xD

Re: Impromptu Games
If you like video editing its possible for me to download the VODs from the stream. They're about 3-5 gigs in size I think. I don't know what the limit for DropBox is but I'm sure I could find a way to get them to you. Or I officially give you permission to use my footage if you have some other way to download the VODs. I think the site only allows me, but I'm pretty sure there's places you can go to take stream footage from somewhere and I don't mind.
I've been thinking about putting together a video recap of a fight or two but boy I really don't like editing and I'm just using some freemium crap that I don't know how to use.

Re: Impromptu Games
Yesterday's battle was very different from the first one, at least from my side. I wanted to be deliberately go on the offensive because I knew that it would be difficult to achieve the objective of clearing the central plateau unless we manoeuver to force the Prussians to move from them positions. My boldness was soon calmed down by the emperor and Murat .
Then I received the order to go to the objective, and found a bit lost between Murat and Napoleon' orders that were aiming the same goal but with different timing or means. Anyway, we easily routed the division holding the bridge without a lot of casualties.

It was extremely different. Rather than risk potential further separation of our force by immediate pursuit of East objective in the face of what seemed to be a Prussian human wave assault I felt it was worth it to concentrate on the defensive- we had great artillery positions - until the weight subsided ... then we could continue with the northern flank grab of the objective. It barely worked. I mean the Prussians took horrendous casualties but we only got to the objective at the last minute. Since I was pretty focused with an active defense if my own units I had to rely on using general guidance and hoping Vince and Digby would figure it out. And they did.

Re: Impromptu Games
My apologies Vince for being so tough on you with some of my messages, but we managed to get there in the end. The team was let down by Lannes who could have secured the Smygel objective early on when it was almost undefended but instead chose to do a tour of the richest churches of the region. Apparently his artillery didn't contribute much to the battle because all the ammunition had been taken out of their caissons and replaced by tapestries, chalices and candlesticks. Such is war.

Well, good commanders can't always be cute and gentle .
Kevin, I have a new scenario ready. I didn't found any real errors in the Logfile after a few attempts, but not sure since there are still stock game errors. Maybe you could check it for future use. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ow7zb8bdq20op4d/LasMesas.rar?dl=0. Please let me know when you downloaded it, I will then suppress the link.

Re: Impromptu Games
Well I definitely could have executed better command responsibilities on our left (north) flank and actually rode over there to see for myself and get a better picture. But let's face it: it was my first time in our KS multiplayer matches where I had Guard artillery and planting them almost hub to hub and watching the kills roll in and points tally, I mean, it was pretty amazing. I could actually shift their positions to get better shots, roll forward, slide left or right, depending on where the Prussians were focusing the next attack. They set up fast, fire fast and fire accurately. So that's where I stayed.

Re: Impromptu Games
OK, I downloaded it and will take a look.
In all modesty, I do have to say that Lannes was the hero of the battle. While the rest of the army stayed at the base of the hill, cowering behind their guns, Lannes men took the battle to the Prussians, courageously climbing the hill in the face of withering cannon fire. It is hoped that one day the army will grow a backbone, but it was not that that day.

Re: Impromptu Games
Lannes? Was he in our OOB? I think I recall a Corporal Lannes in the recent horse dung shoveling detail at that barn near Smygel. I mean he did a good job and all. Got everything shoveled up. We gave him an extra bread ration. Same guy?

Re: Impromptu Games
Lannes?
It's actually spelled wrongly - it was Lahn - famous Prussian General in French service that meant no harm to his fellow countrymen.
Upon arriving on open Prussian flank, he decided to line up his guns with Prussian precision and discipline (no fire was allowed until all three batteries were in perfect line). Then used superior line formations for his rapid-snail advance and God forbid to combine attack with Cavalry - that what these French heretics do.
Eventually succeeded to invite Prussians to take the objective back before the sunset. Excellent performance
I'd say Kevin vs Pat in sabotaging CinC plan 1:0

I'll have a 4-vs-3 player PvP ready for tomorrow if people want a bit of a laugh. If we get 8 players I can take a brigade in someone's command.

Re: Impromptu Games
I find utterly suspicious Kevin's replay file uploaded on Discord covers only the first 38 minutes of Sunday's battle...
Anybody could share the remaining segment for truth's sake, please?
The huge blobbing on the plateau didn't really looked like a very smart move by AI anyway.
Pressure charged on Soult's and Miko's corps was fairly brutal, though.

Re: Impromptu Games
I uploaded all the parts of the replay on Discord. As you will see, the only troops that fought like true Frenchmen were those of Lannes Corps.

Re: Impromptu Games
Kevin you wrote an incomplete sentence. I will help you edit it:
You need to insert the phrase “wish they could have” between the words “that” and “fought” and the phrase “but I regret to admit fell embarrassingly short” after the word “Frenchmen”

I am in the mood for some PvP today. I have a scenario ready but am happy to play another. Mine needs 7 players. If we have 8 I will take a brigade under one of the French commands to balance things out.

Re: Impromptu Games
If I can make it (50/50) then it would not be until 1500EST or so. I could take a brigade then. Or perhaps suddenly take over for a division commander and get my briefing via courier. Whatever works, but cannot join in any event until the scenario is in progress
