What a splendid idea!

I believe the scenario designer had wagon master training some years ago.  However our records indicate that he appears not to have completed the course, for some so far unknown reason.  With dire results, as it turns out............

Not to worry.  We do offer a refresher course at a very competitive fee.  I will put the elite team on standby.  As well as operations, there are now excellent modules on animal husbandry, and mule gender-studies.

I was only following orders. Is it my fault that the CinC couldn't/wouldn't send new orders telling me of a new destination?

Although a perfect plan of attack was formulated, poor execution by underlings resulted in a setback. Kaiser Franz has been informed and the Adriatic fortresses will see the arrival of new commanders shortly.

Despite the incessant whining by a certain cavalry commander, the battle went exactly as planned, thus proving the age-old maxim that cavalry commanders should only be seen and not heard.

Sunday's battle against the French resulted in a major victory for the Third Coalition. The cavalry performed well despite the broken and wooded terrain they operated in. The infantry also performed well, although they allowed a French heavy cavalry attack to overrun a heavy battery. This success was no doubt the result of the Emperor commanding on the field in person. The commanders made a good show of genuflecting as His Highness passed by.

Indeed. Our genuflecting included a special salute requiring but a single finger. My battalions were most excited to show reverence in this fashion on a repeated basis. Even in the heat of battle men would ask when His Highness would arrive so they could salute him again and again. But our Commander never came back. I had to explain to them such terms as “abject fear of the enemy” and “leaving us to fight our way alone” and “desire to just visit with local wenches” in order to convey the reasons for the absence.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 20:00 CET.  Sunday's battle ended in a stinging defeat for the French forces.  In choosing to attack the strongest point of the Russian defenses, the French were paralyzed, thrown back and then scorned by the victorious Russians.  Only one of three objectives were taken.  You might say a better CinC was needed.
