Re: Impromptu Games
Any chance for PvP tonight? I started creating a PvP scenario but I won't get it finished on time.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST.
I don't have a PvP scenario just a PvAI.

I'm throwing a PvP together now in case we have enough players.

Re: Impromptu Games
I've done a 4v4 game, but by chopping out a command on each side it can easily become a 3v3. Don't expect anything groundbreaking; 1h 45mins ago I had nothing, not even a master OOB.
I'll put the map and situation up here soon.
No Frenchmen (or women) will be harmed in the fighting of this battle (nor Spanish, nor 1806 Prussians for that matter)...
EDIT:
It is March 1820 and Europe has been at peace for five years. Napoleon is exiled to St Helena and is now an old and very ill man. While Europe rejoices at an economic boom, all is not well. A mysterious plague has arrived in the lands, thought to have been caused by contaminated garlic baguettes in a Paris food market. The rumour that these have come from the ex-emperor's chef on St Helena has not been confirmed. Will Napoleon have the last laugh after all?
Many are on the roads, travelling to avoid the sickness the chief symptom of which is really bad breath.
The Bavarian city of Posen houses its army and there is word that many of the populace are fleeing north east away from Paris and the evil stench of the plague of garlic. Due to heavy rains and thaws in the mountains the Wetna Fluss is in flood and only the fords at Domrowko, Rachkowo and Skoken are passable. The three crossing places are marked. All other crossings of the Wetna Fluss and Warta Fluss are impassable.
The Phlegmatic League of Irrelevant German States (PLIGS) has been formed in the south, and their army, comprising Wurttembergers, Badeners, Hesse-Darmstadters, Saxons and Westphalian troops is moving north to secure the Wetna crossings so that their peoples may flee the unbearable garlicness.
It seems a collision of the two armies is unavoidable but will blood be shed?
Objective: Each side must secure at least two of the three crossings to be able to get their people across the river to safety tomorrow. If only one bridge is held, an awful fate of sour breath will overcome much of that state's population and economic doom and gloom will follow since no-one will be able to get near them to conduct trade. To control a crossing at least one battalion or cavalry regiment in good order, must be within 100 yards of each end of it.

Re: Impromptu Games
Welp, I really did it this time! The second half of the battle is sadly behind a terrible wall that I made Kevin pay for by no longer trading with the biggest market in the world in a hope to somehow have an economic edge that I guess is just supposed to manifest itself. Anyway, bad trading policies aside, I definitely stepped in it this time. Just totally forgot and was too absorbed in the fighting (retreating) to put it back up. So my bad on that one. Where's the face desk emoji when you need it. Fortunately most of what I was doing after the crash involved having Grog come to my rescue and send Kevin's cavalry off and a boring march over to the hill to try and grab the objectives too late. So there wasn't a whole lot to miss. Time to put a post-it note on the monitor to remind me I guess.

Almost all the time I am recording with Fraps and we have to stop and restart I forget to restart Fraps. I must have deleted loads of 1/2 battle recordings.

How convenient. I guess the foul smelling Bavarians had the last laugh after all.

Re: Impromptu Games
And to think of the lost opportunity of seeing my gallant division — rather all the infantry that was left of my division after my cavalry got mauled tangling with Grogs cavalry — make a bold river crossing and crawl and fight its way across an open field, sprinting intermittently along river woods and road to a nearly exhausted state to take the middle objective with 5 mins to spare. Such feats are the source of great stories to span across generations.
Such feats are also derived from very specific orders
Me: “sir, please clarify what you mean by staying ‘near the river?’
Kevin: “get your ass on the objective”

Re: Impromptu Games
It was a gallant march Sir. I am sure in the distant future, other generals will read of your exploits and think it a wise strategy to send a weak force, lacking mobile or artillery support deep into enemy lines to secure a vital river crossing without any hope of support. Brave tales will be told of those who will emulate you.

Re: Impromptu Games
The only flaw in that strategy was that said division commander didn't have the decency to get himself killed.

Re: Impromptu Games
Hello,
Is there any regular games on MP that I could join sometimes ? If so, I would be glad to join if you accept me as I'm not used to it ^^. I'm quite used to the game but only on SP, very beginner on MP.
In that case, could you sum up the procedure I need to follow ? I'm struggling to find the appropriate informations since they are a bit dispersed in many topics?

Re: Impromptu Games
We meet every Friday, Sunday and Tuesday at 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. The link to our discord server is in the stickied thread. We ask new players to arrive a few minutes early so that we can ensure they have the latest files installed. A working mic is needed for pre-battle discussion but we don't use voice at all in game except for technical issues. We don't use the lobby but join direct to the host by IP and we'll give you that on your first session.

Re: Impromptu Games
I've finished my PvP Scenario, that I've named Austrian UltraWide - inspired by Kevin's monitor (or ego). Just in case I did make sure there is a Prinz led division.
We need a good numbers though... ideally 8... with a stretch it could be played with 6 if a player each side takes 2 divisions.
I have reserved a division for myself as (alternatively it could be assigned to AI with restriction to only send orders to division commander by Corps commander but that didn't work as I intended in my previous scenario).

Re: Impromptu Games
I am definitely up for a game today. PvP sounds excellent. I do not have the insecurities of Kevin, thus have no need for a “prinz” or any other such titles that smack of illegitimate royalty

Re: Impromptu Games
I hope we'll have the numbers... as Vince can now command a division it'll be more likely. If not today then another time...
The players assignment will be as follows:
Austria:
Kevin
Miko - but I won't participate in planning - you'll see from both sides briefing which division I am
France:
Ehey
Pat
now depending on who we've got this will be top up accordingly so it's fairly well balanced
I made sure cavalry is in rather low numbers.

It will be an honor to fight alongside the gallant Ehey to rid Europe of vermin like Kevin. Miko we will allow you to surrender with honor should the time come, but when it comes to the Prusso-Coloradian there will be no such quarter given.
