I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST.
The heady day of victory came crashing down Friday in a battle against the Russians. This is another scenario that will go into the Pat Gets to Command folder.
Today's battle will either be against the French or Russians.

Sunday's battle resulted in a triumph for the Prussians. Even an attack on our rear by a French division could not thwart our men from dealing out destruction to the enemy.
Today we will be British.

Weds. battle was a fine victory for at least two of the three divisions fighting that day.
Today we will either be French, fighting in Germany or Austrians. fighting in Spain.

Austrians in Spain sounds like a nasty recipe for melted ice cream.

We didn't even come close.  Your division was facing three of the French, while Grog and Phil faced one together.  Needless to say, your men were in quite a tight spot when I took it over.  How ever do you manage to do that? scratch I was eventually able to rout or capture all but one of the enemy's cavalry regiments while maintaining three of yours.  Keeping them viable and forcing a large part of the French infantry into squares as they neared was the only thing that kept the division on the field.  Even so, I think I lost 6 or 7 btns to cavalry charges and French guns.  All in all a very bloody day.  The scenario is going into the Pat Commands folder.

Indeed, it was one of the most difficult battles I have fought in a long time. In the future, please do a better job of picking your fights. Especially if I'm left with cleaning up the mess. If it's Phil, please carry on as normal. Twisted Evil

Hm, can't open the replay. Map not found. I have a Nap_Spain_Lynchburg.jpg in the replay viewer folder and an entry in the csv file. Did you update the map Kevin?

No, I didn't do any updates to the map name. Is Nap_Spain_Lynchburg in both columns A and B?

The map issue was weird. By double clicking the file I got the error, but by opening the replay player and then selecting the file it worked.

I can be there today and will endeavour to stay the course. I have an elderly friend I live with for whom I am the carer and she has just come out of hospital after a hip operation so on Friday I was needed. That circumstance may arise again at short notice so I apologise for that.

In future, just give me commands that will be destroyed early on Razz

Hoping a speedy recovery for your friend, Martin.
As it turned out, Kevin was more than happy to take over, as the action began to settle down in that sector, or at least,no Couriers arrived to say otherwise.😉
Phil was equally unphased except for a few squadrons of LCav milling around. Hell , he even had leisure to leave a large brigade guarding the baggage😀

In Sunday's battle, the Russians just barely managed to pull off a victory, in spite of having a modern day Kutusov in charge.
Today we shall be French.

Hi Guys

Sorry I didn't make Tuesday. I Poked my head into Discord tonight and stumbled on Pat. Before I could press the Escape key, I had agreed to an MP game. Fortunately, Pat had a 2Player v AI Scenario handy. He said that it was one he put together some time ago and could not remember any details of the scenario. Nothing that transpired would give me any reason to doubt his sincerity in this statement Very Happy

Joking aside, it was a really good game, which we naturally, won cheers . Pat succeeded it holding both objectives whilst I occupied myself in preventing Prussian blood and entrails from marking the uniforms of my Subordinate, who succeeded in counting the enemy firepower with the 'bodies of his warriors' Very Happy

Thanks Pat, Great game.

Mike

Pat, we have generally now moved the Wednesday game to Tuesdays sine a new guy has joined us who can often make the latter, but never the former. The other days games are unchanged, as are timings.

Tues. battle was a 'near run thing' with the French capturing Moosburg at the very last moment. The Russians are always difficult opponents.
Today we will be either Russian or French, depending on the number of players.

As reported elsewhere, Friday's battle was a French defeat. At least we can blame it on the Cossacks.
Today, we will shiver in Russia.

Sunday's battle was a another defeat of the French. Just when we thought we had won, we lost. A Russian battery and their support stole into Moosburg and began to shoot up the place. They are nearly as bad as the Cossacks.
Today, we will be the Russians. Bring your mittens.

Tues. battle was a glorious victory for the Russians. Although it was fought as three separate battles, each ended with the Motherland being secure.
There was sniping after the battle that some behaved like Austrians. So today we will be the Austrians.
