Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. After a very tense battle, the field was in the possession of the Russians. We'll see if we can "help" the French today even the score.

I can play today at the usual time 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Poor generalship led to another humiliating defeat. We'll try to make a better showing of it today.

Re: Impromptu Games
You need to take out generalship and replace it with modmanship or scenariomanship...Just my two colonies.
Remember that Phil said he won't make it today hopefully Grog,Digby or another one of our wayward clan will join us today.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST 19:00 GMT. We'll take the Russian side in what could be a difficult scenario. It should at least give the author a chuckle or two.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST 19:00 GMT. The last battle was a Russian failure. Lack of aggressive behavior by the commanders led to this wholly predictable outcome. We'll try for a rare win today as the French.

Re: Impromptu Games
Did you try to fight the Klimovitchi battle again? I can play tomorrow in case you want to give it a go.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST 19:00 GMT. Back by "popular demand", we'll fight the battle of Klimovitchi today.

I'll be there. I can take that division way at the back. I think Phil has the actions of the forward division all down pat by now.

Re: Impromptu Games
So
Who will be there for today’s game?
My CinC horse is being brushed and prepped in the stables as we speak. Oh wait that is KEVIN being brushed and prepped ... no wait HE is doing the prepping of MY horse ... ah so very wonderful to see that Kevin has finally found a role in the Army commensurate with his skillset!! And his former stable cleaner now has command of his brigade!

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST 19:00 GMT. At last, a victory at Klimovitchi, proving that if we play a scenario enough times, even we can win. Of course it helps a lot if Pat is not involved.

Re: Impromptu Games
Want to confirm ... 1400 or 1300. Last time I played we moved it up so Pom could jump in. I can definitely do that as well if needed.
I also advertise this on the new GCM site. So maybe some of the old pros will come back to join :-)

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST 19:00 GMT. Sunday saw the French win an overwhelming victory in the Potok valley. Even more stunning was the fact that Pat was in command. Today we'll take command of the Russians and try to reverse their fortunes.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST 19:00 GMT. The Russians had a convincing victory at Zizmori. Initially it looked like a quick defeat, but the human led forces managed to hold and wear down the AI opponent.

Re: Impromptu Games
Again I see my command prowess challenged by those who hide behind the skirts of the camp followers. The past week has seen me
1. Leading the corps to victory on Wednesday and having Napoleon himself cook my dinner in gratitude.
2. Holding back an entire French division at a vital crossroad so with my single brigade, being awarded the Medalski du Semi-Braveryski by Comrade Morsey
Both feats impossible without the talents of fine commanders like Mike, Phil, Digby, Grog and (nee) Stenberg. And in past weeks men like Martin and Pom.
Feats possible DESPITE Kevin and his lumbering brigade full of complaining children.
‘Tis a shame Kevin is so jealous that we continually outwit his scenario design.
Of course that means Kevin will strike back with an improved scenario design. One where we soon will be facing 6 divisions to our 3, where we have to assault uphill in open terrain ... no wait ... uphill on muddy open fields where movement is reduced and artillery stuck immobile without ammunition. Then comes the wide low river slowing movement even further. And our infantry has an experience level of 1.7 tops, at least those units provided any ammuntion. Yes THAT sounds more like a Kevins revenge scenario.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST 19:00 GMT. The Russians achieved a clear victory at the battle for Smolensk Friday. A superior battleplan by the Cinc insured the AI led French had no chance. We'll take the French side today. Should a certain ne'er do well take command, the French will likely face another defeat.
