Re: Impromptu Games
Chaps on NSD forum have suggested that I rename the unitglobal in the Quatre Bras DLC. Makes sense. Try it after work.
Won't be home until about 18.40 but should be ok by 7pm to try and Host.

Re: Impromptu Games
Mike,
I was thinking that somewhere there may have been another UnitGlobal, I think we had this problem before but I could not remember 100% and did not want to say something that might screw your game up.
Hmmm imagine that you checked the forum for the game. LOL Well done.
Will see you today then.
Mike-Morsey or as Phil calls me behind my back stupid Trump supporter.

Re: Impromptu Games
Mike yes its well known that the NSD DLCs prevent multi-player if you have a mod activated that also includes a unitglobal. Neat, eh?
I just deleted everything in the DLCs except the maps - which is actually all I bought them for.
Have we all got the Quatre Bras DLC yet? Its quite a good map for massed cavalry chaos.
I think I'll try and get there today.

Re: Impromptu Games
Well, in the unlikely event that Kevin is either eaten by Parana, carried off by a Condor or stampeded to death by a heard of Alpaca, we can still Host MP games
Grog is Port-ready and tested
Played a scenario with Martin(Diggers) put together by Mike although, unfortunately he was unable to play due to family commitment
Phil voiced his appologies on Teamspeak, more storms (he's gonna have to find better plavce to live than Jupiter)
Finished early as Martin and me getting tired
Thanks all

Re: Impromptu Games
The piranha were small and condors far off, though the alpacas did eye me suspiciously. I am back safe and can play at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT.
As I recall, the British were successful in forcing passage across the Seille and capturing the crossroads. However they failed miserably in establishing appropriate sleeping arrangements for His Grace in Nancy. I believe Gen. Hill was cashiered for this gross failure. We will again take the British side and continue the drive into France.

Do you mean 14:00 EDT and 19:00 BST? After a long hiatus, I'd love to jump in for a game today

I can play at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Another victory for Wellington's army has put the French to flight. With the Emperor's forces in disarray, the British are now moving deep into France. We will take the French side and attempt to halt these barbarians from the north.

Now the French have no chance... Yes, for you non-military types, it is 2pm.

I should be able to make it today. If Mike's gerbils can be whipped up to speed and that lazy Mississippian turns up, we'll have 5.

I can play at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. The French were finally able to stopped the British advance. By leaving their LOC uncovered, the Emperor's men assaulted the enemy at Chalons and Rheims, driving them from both towns. Was this a lucky gamble or a foolish risk? Future historians will undoubtedly write countless tomes on the matter. In the meantime, we will once again take the French side and attempt again to drive back the barbarous British.

Re: Impromptu Games
There was so much British CAV on the map yesterday that I was worried that this would actually happen, let alone we were going to get destroyed by them.

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT, although I'll be wearing a bag over my head. The last battle was a crushing French defeat. In fact the battle was lost before any shots were fired.
Grog, our CinC, sent out multiple scouts including himself to make sure no threat was coming from the north towards the French LOC. The British are wise to this and pull a classic rope a dope by appearing to move off to the north.
With the coast clear, The CinC orders his division east to support the rest of the corps. Little does he realize an enemy division is headed cross country to fall on our LOC.
The British make themselves at home, eating our soft cheeses and drinking our wine. Meanwhile we busy ourselves with the enemy at Carstruhe.
The French larders are so full, a 2nd British division moves in to join the feast. The French have been humbugged, as Wellington would say.

Re: Impromptu Games
I think that Kevin has found away to control the AI through his cell phone or PC. When you watch the replay you can see all the AI running away from Grog and then as soon as he turns to assist us they immediately go to the OBJ that was our LOC.
I demand an investigation!!!!

Re: Impromptu Games
Ha!
Perhaps the wind was blowing in a North Easterly direction and a faint whif of fromage was smelt over the cannon smoke produced from our Grand Battery.
I actually wonder if it was my scouts that alerted the enemy and set the British reserve division in motion, cross country.
Whatever, I took the gamble and paid the price.
General Grog may be having his last breakfast before dawn. Unfortunately, I am informed we are without soft cheese and wine.
Fortunately, there were some English supplies at Carstrune. Looks like the Full English Breakfast, washed down with warm Beer.
Beats Brie and Cranberry, anyway.

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. Despite some minor success, the French were unable to dislodge the British from a crucial crossroads. I suppose this should be considered a victory as the enemy did not eat our lunch this time. We will once again take the French side and vainly attempt to defeat Wellington and the boys in red.

Vainly?
Vainly?
Last Sunday - under my unequaled leadership - our French troops bared their teeth and those British were soundly defeated...swept from the field so fast they hardly had time to wail in embarrassment and awe.
