Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Once again the human led French forces suffered an embarrassing defeat. They completely and utterly failed to achieve any of their objectives. It seems half the army was intimidated and rendered impotent by a gang of hairy cavalrymen carrying pointy sticks. The shame of it all. Today we'll try as the Russians to garner a victory. It's been so long, I'm not sure what that feels like. A new dll is available too.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Putting the best face on Sunday's battle, the human guided Russian army eked out a draw. Shameful. We'll take up the fight as the Russians again. If they can't win today's battle, they will need to take up another occupation.

Re: Impromptu Games
Before I play again we will need to get a new game umpire. All other parties involved includeing your scenario outcome calculator in the last game agreed that we were victorious.
Oh see you at game time...

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Moy Bog, another Russian defeat. Will the incompetent humans ever achieve a clear victory? Is there anyone out there who can lead us? We'll take the French side today. Maybe the last two stinging defeats will carry over to the AI Russians.

Ugh. As its now an hour after start time and I am very obviously not there... I cannot make it today!
Will try to be there Sunday.
Perhaps we should try commanding the Spanish? Just to add a weensy bit of a challenge, obviously.

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. Disaster struck again on Friday. As we were about to engage the Russians, our CinC, drunk, fell off his horse and was rendered insensible, thereby forcing the corps to suspend operations. Although it can be argued that neither drink nor falling off the horse led to his insensibility.

I am glad that you went no further without me to blame our demise that day. It was going to be a big fight. Will be good to play it another day.
Should make it today.

Re: Impromptu Games
Pat led us to a complete victory tonight: Pat was C-in-C and won, Mike won, Phil won, I won... only Kevin screwed up and lost. 1 player loses out of a team of 5 and he was the scenario designer... I will say no more.

Re: Impromptu Games
Perhaps the plan of having me fighting off three divisions while the rest of you fought one, had an teeny flaw in it?

Re: Impromptu Games
Sometimes as the “anchor” in a fluid situation means you have to suck it up without incessant couriers telling me the sky is falling ... your actual job is to lay down your life for the greater good of the corps. We all survive except you.
We responded to each threat (Mike nicely done) took our objectives (way to go Digby and Phil) and .... well ... you, ah, er helped make that all happen.
One of us will write your family with the news. Assuming we dont forget.
Meanwhile I give you the Order of the Anchor. Just bestowed it. Right now. Congratulations.

Re: Impromptu Games
I would never, ever, be so petty as to seek revenge by making an overly nasty scenario. The normal ones do quite well in that respect.

I can play at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. As the string of losses goes unbroken, we'll take the Russian side today.

I can play at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. With the loss of our CinC again, the outcome was never in doubt. Will the humans ever win again? Another, no doubt, feeble attempt will be made today. I have my paper sack ready to go over my head.

Re: Impromptu Games
As this battle may take a little thought, I have posted the map with the situation report.
After our last victory, General de Tolly's army is moving south into a region of Germany unspoiled by the war. The strength and position of the enemy in this region is unknown, but likely, they are widely dispersed. De Tolly has sent the 8-y Korpus under command of the redoubtable General Borozdin to seize the territory and hold it until the rest of the army can arrive.
Intelligence:
Our forces have just entered the theater of operations and have not had a chance to reconnoiter the area. The populous is frightened and have only given wild reports of large formations of French troops to the south. If they are to be believed, the enemy number more than 8 divisions.
Objective:
Spoil this piece of Germany. Hold 2 objective towns by the end of the day, (there must be at least 1 brigade garrisoning the town and no enemy forces within 500 yd of it). Severely defeat at least 2 French divisions. An overwhelming victory would be the defeat of 3 divisions.

Re: Impromptu Games
Got it all figured out once again.
Now if Phil and my grandson will cooperate (not necessarily in that order(Kevin is left out since we know he always has other priorities) my plan will work) (no need to include Grog or Digby they always do what they are told))
Now that is some Battlefield BS right there...
Individual DIV Commands will be assigned under the following criteria.
1. Where will the hot spot be that I can send Phil to where the most casualties can be inflicted. Preferably a place where he can complain the apocalypse is upon him and still get 6000 plus points.
2. An area that suffers from a milkmaid shortage and houses of ill repute to keep Kevin on task.
3. Places that need to be held and assigned task carried out so Digby and Grog will be used to their utmost use.
4. If Charmeade shows a place that needs an all out attack from some obscure part of the map.
5. A pre set plan to insure I will not be blamed for this sadistic scenarios loss along with somewhere I can hide that does not have paper bags with a 100 miles radius.
