New Skirmishers Column in OOBs..

Is there any info available on what the numbers in this column pertain to?

When uplifting the stock Quatre Bras French Corps level scenario, I produced a custom OOB that was the stock QB one provided with the game modded to be KS-compatible and I'll obviously need to rework the OOB for 1.32.

For Ligny "The Eagle Triumphs" I have been taking a different approach - using the supplied OOB_SB_KS_NAP_Belgium1815_Prussian file but I'd like to update the scenario to use the skirmisher improvements.

The numbers refer to the number of companies each battalion sends out. That number equals a percentage of the battalion size. Those percentages are listed in unitattributes.csv, (at the bottom of the page).

I thought it was the actual number of companies. So an 1815 French battalion would have the number "6" in that column, indicating that 1 company in 6 or 1/6th of the unit will be sent forwards.

Are we still okay using "1" if we want the whole battalion to skirmish under the old system?

Thanks for the clarification - I'm going to update my Quatre Bras scenario to be a "Skirm" OOB..... but I'll play through the new KSFrenchScenario130 first as that's on the same map to see how the new mod works.

I've been updating my OOB based on OOB_SB_KS_NAP_Skirm_Belgium1815_British.csv.

On L197 for 3e Btn 4e Légère in Brigade Jamin there is no value present in the Skirmishers column.
Should this be "1" as per the other light battalions?

I would make it a 3. It's the 3rd btn. of that regiment.

Hi, may I ask a couple of questions about the way the new skirmish companies are handled.

1 - In the OOBs various units have a 0 (zero) value in the skirmish column, presumably because they don't have this capability. What is the difference between a zero and leaving the cell blank?

2 - Some Light Bns have a 1 (full deployment), whilst others have a value of 3 or 4, giving a half or two thirds deployment. Is this just to reduce the amount of skirmishers used in the game?

3 - In the KS MOD Manual it says a Bde Commander can be ordered to deploy his skirmishers by using the Skirmish option in the move or combat tabs. I have not been able to get this to work. Does this only work when the commander has the enemy in sight?

There's no difference. I just like seeing zeros.

Yes. The full deployment is the old style skirmishers. I wanted to blend the old and new without having a third of the French army in skirmish formation.
