Re: Impromptu Games
I can play on Sunday at 15:00 EST, 20:00 BST.
I have a Co-op vs AI scenario ready to go on the newly converted France Cold Harbor map. I will upload everything you need for the map into the usual place in Dropbox, with instructions. Please grab it in plenty of time as there are some large package files.
It is early spring 1814 and the war of the liberation of Germany has now crossed the Rhine into France. Allied Austrian and Russian armies march on Paris and one more good push should see the French crushed and the Corsican Ogre forced to abdicate.
2 ArmeeKorps of Generallieutenant von Pirch is advancing north-west and is approaching the lines of the Grande Morin and Vesle rivers. It is known that the French have a defensive position here and we must force our hated enemy out of it. If we can secure the towns of Sezanne and Montmirail on the west bank of the Grande Morin, the French will again be obliged to give ground and withdraw further west.
Intelligence:
The IV Corps of General Gerard is in the region of Chalons and probably has divisions deployed along both the Morin and Vesle. Our cavalry patrols have identified a strong line of French cavalry and light infantry picquets near Vatry and Baconne, though Chalons itself is empty of French. Several disillusioned prisoners have fallen into our hands and therefore we have what appears to be reliable intelligence of enemy divisions at Ferre Champenoise, west of the river beyond Vertus and Rheims. Our enemy may or may not have other reserves further west. We outnumber the enemy although our corps contains many untried Landwehr regiments, both infantry and cavalry and it has been known for Napoleon to use his Imperial Guards more and more as the campaign presses deeper into France.
Objectives:
1) Clear Vatry and Vertus of enemy and establish a position from which to assault across the Grand Morin river.
2) Cross the river.
3) Exploit, preferably with cavalry, and secure before nightfall Sezanne and Montmirail and the important roads these towns guard, which lead west.
Note: The Grand Morin CANNOT be forded at any point south of the major tributary junction a little NE of Ferre Champenoise, shown coloured blue on your maps.

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today. I'll even contribute a new dll to the project. Assuming 20:00 BST is the start time, that would make it 15:00 EST over here.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. It will be on the new Cold Harbor map, Russians vs French I think. There will, of course, be a new dll. Don't get too excited though, this one is all for my benefit.

Re: Impromptu Games
Contrary to the rumours I can now play today.
I haven't seen either of Phils new maps yet. Any chance we could use one of those?

Re: Impromptu Games
Unfortunately I made the scenario last night on one of the random maps. Friday we'll do one on the new Pipe Creek map.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. We'll try out Phil's new Pipe Creek map.
I've put the needed files in a zip file which is in the SOW Maps Mod\Maps\PCL1 Spain dropbox. All you need to download is the zip file. The directions for putting the files in the correct location are in the zip file.

I thought we were going to continue testing the game we had problems with on Wednesday?

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 15:00 EST, 20:00 BST. We'll be using Phil's new version of the Manassas map. There is zip file in the SOW map mod Maps\Manassas dropbox folder. Inside it are directions for putting the files in the correct folders. Also, since the bad frame issue has been resolved, a new dll is back on the menu.

Re: Impromptu Games
I really think we should add "_KS" to EVERY file we process in our new maps to save any confusion. Eventually we can simply discard any non _KS files. I think that will be easier. This even applies to files our new KS map versions use but which are unchanged, such as maybe .bmp or minimap .dds files. Can we do that please?

Re: Impromptu Games
If we play today I'd like to ask that we start at 19.15 or 19.30 like on Monday.
btw I'm working on OOB for a scenario using 1807 Russians... any requests regarding which map should I use?

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today. Shall we start an hour earlier than usual, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST? Given the near euphoric response to the last dll, I've made changes in hopes of returning the usual fear and loathing that greet such an announcement. We a will also play on Phil's new Antietam map. The map file is in the SOW Maps Mod\Maps folder. Instructions are included.

Re: Impromptu Games
Sounds good. No doubt Phill will have covered the Antietam map with lush dense jungle and 12 foot high cornfields. We know his preferences. I'm looking forward to being back in the 'Nam.

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. The last dll had the desired effect, much wailing and gnashing of teeth due to the humiliating defeat at the hands of the AI. Today's scenario will be a walk in the park by comparison. However, there will be a new dll, so maybe some rending of garments?

May I ask for later start again?
Well, If you switched off infantry shooting effect while keeping animations in last DLL it was really clever.
