Hi gentlemans ,
playing KS MOD just for two weeks,
I've noticed several time that playing SP sand box that the artillery wait very very long time before starting firing. Playing at corps or division level, taking control or not of the battery, with attack stance or defensive stance. Battery is in line for 10 minutes game with a target 500 or 800 yards and never start firing before infantry or cavalry engage the fight .
Does anybody 's got an idea........
Thank you

Are you setting TC (take command) of the battery commander or not? If you are not what stance are you giving them? I find I get good results from not TC-ing them and giving them an all out attack stance.

I find though that this causes the battery commanders to shift around quite a lot at first until the AI finds a target, then it will settle down and concentrate fire on this enemy it has found. During this it is best not to interrupt the AI but shift your infantry into positions that give the gunners good support. This may end up with your lines not being where you really wanted them but this is preferable, I find, to having my guns not do anything significant all battle.

The AI is fickle though - some battles result in the artillery racking up immense casualties on the enemy and some days they seem almost useless. The gunners art is a dark one which we generals often cannot fathom.

Thank you for your answer,
I've tried this week end, the best way i've found is to take control for the placement an after not TC but with an AOA ( all out attack) stance. The AI battery, you're right, need time to select target without adjustment from our part.
The second point, very important cause it will change the react of the battery, is that it need to be well support with infantry at short range if we research the use of the canister.
I still try lot of things....
Thanks
