I'll try and be there. Again would prefer a brigade rather than a division. Still not feeling 100% (or even 79%).

Definitely joining today, I've been missing "with the plan like this, how can we possibly fail?"

I have a 2v2 also, but no milkmaids are involved.

Re: Impromptu Games
Three confirmed for today.
Due to time change in Europe, we meet at 19.00BST GMT.
For some reason I thought that BST means "British Standard Time" and thus time in UK is constantly BST - which was wrong.
In order to use one acronym all year round check this simple chart: http://www.timetemperature.com/europe/united_kingdom_time_zone.shtml
WET - Western European Time - UK, Ireland, Portugal
CET - Central European Time - most of the Europe
EET - Eastern European Time - Andrew
MSK - Moscow and I suppose most of the European part of Russia

I can play today at the new normal time, 15:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. I've put together a 2V2 scenario using the PCL1 map.

We should not play again Kevin, we should quit while we are ahead.
I should make today too.

Just a wee remark gentlemen - I did totally waste my division in yesterday battle, but I don't think you were anywhere near the objective
Very likely that "ze empreror's hat" was stolen/hidden by the third party
or are you content with his majesty soiled linen?

I'm afraid that no one made it to the town and recovered the Emperor's hat. I fear that the goats ended up eating it. This is bleak news for the French Empire as Nappy is in a deep funk. Meanwhile von Kienmayer's failure has resulted in being posted to a shore battery along the Adriatic. Failure has consequences, gentlemen.

Phil says he can't make it today.
I guess he's wandering about with hollow pumpkin on his head and shouting "trick or treat!"

Re: Impromptu Games
So, interesting battles we had on Sunday and Monday.
I'll comment on yesterday's battle as it was my scenario. So, I've noticed that IF sandbox parameter is set to other value than zero, then all individual units locations are ignored. Commander position and facing is taken into account and whole division is spread in line . You can imagine my frustration when we started scenario and I saw our divisions deployed in lines after maybe not spending hours but putting an effort to deploy brigades nicely on roads/column formations etc...
Today morning before going to work I tested scenario with sandbox=0 and... AI was amazing - moved all divisions... so I think I'll be using sandbox=0 only now... if behaviour depends on commander features then I'd like to explore those and just appoint/tweak the correct commander instead of changing sandbox parameter.

Re: Impromptu Games
AI=0 is hunt them down mode. This can lead to some rather silly battles as the AI could send its divisions off to random corners of the map. AI=1 or 2 is the attack/defend mode which is needed if you have an objective. Problem with those two modes is, as you have found out, default division line formation is always used.
We just have to work within the limitations NSD have set down.
I recommend always test a scenario in MP with only you playing as well

Re: Impromptu Games
Hi Martin. Good to see you. How are you? Joining some battles anytime soon?
Have I posted on here by mistake again? If so, could you move this discussion to AAR thread, please?
I see... however Attack/Defend doesn't seem to work perfectly either and initial deployment was quite important in my scenario.
I suppose, it's not the first time, nor last time I've been disappointed by the limitations
that's what I've done this morning - I've hosted game with only me in it and observed what AI was doing - and it behaved much better than on Attack mode.
