Napoleonic Skirmish Formation Empty Napoleonic Skirmish Formation

Post  Mr. Digby Wed Apr 17, 2013 5:43 pm

I noted in our Waterloo MP game last weekend that th eskirmish formation in use was the vanilla one with the close order reserve companies.

I know there's a couple of variants out there and in fact in my old install of the Nap Mod I had one by Jack O'Neill installed that just had a nice irregular line with no reserves.

Would we as a group like to make this change official? I know it has no practical effect and is just eye-candy but its nice eye candy.

I did a different skirmish line for those guys, but I don't think they liked it. It wasn't as long and didn't have the large reserve. I believe I use it in the Courier&Maps mod. You might look at that and see if you like it. We can easily substitute/change formations. There are some errors in the nappy mod formations which we will want to fix regardless.

I especially liked that one so we could add it. I remember Jack's one though looked very irregular and really looked like a 'cloud' of Napoleonic skimishers.

That may have been the first one I did for them. They thought it looked too irregular. So I made one that was a bit more organized looking. I think that may be the one in Courier&Maps. I doubt I still have the first one, but I'll look.

Many thanks, the more irregular the better I think.
