Campaign Update 10/8
Slight pause today while I unravel a thread of orders. Those timezones and my work schedule conspired against much progress today. I do have turn 5 orders in hand for everyone, and will be getting those turned around as soon as I can. I first need to hear back from some players who require a bit of information and clarification. The only problem is that tomorrow's schedule is worse than today's. This happens every couple weeks or so, but it's only for a day or two. I hope to process turn 5 late tomorrow.
On Wednesday, I expect to be announcing the first major clash.
Start thinking about your weekend schedules!

Re: Campaign Update 10/8
I'm fine with a couple of turns per week Neal. A turn per day I actually am unable to keep up with.
I'd also like some time before the first battle so that the Reb team can play some practice games.

Neal, take your time. You don't have to hurry one turn each day (in real life ).
I bet the courier system also generates a lot of work on your side. Please tell, if you can't handle it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but we have the following Campaign progress so far:
June 22th - Turn 1 order given
June 23th - Turn 2 order given. Turn 1 order processed
June 25th - Turn 3
June 26th - Turn 4
...
To keep it simple, I assumed that the orders are processed at midnight. So each message or courier dating from June 25th means that the orders of Turn 2 have been processed before that.
I haven't given any orders for turn 5 yet.

I agree, a move every 3 or 4 days would be fine.
My dear Chinless, simply run up the white flag. My staff will see to all the details and paperwork.

Nah, Home, I gots this.
I've just been slammed yesterday and today with work and family and so on. However, I manage my time pretty well, so I always have time to get something accomplished. The only exception would be like on Saturday when I will be in Los Angeles for the day. However, I have even planned for that!
The game's pace has been pretty breakneck because I wanted to get us to the action where it becomes more interesting and slows down. That's where the heart of the campaign is. So yes, I've been forging ahead, Father General style, but now I expect to move at a more McClellan-ish pace.
You're correct on the turns, as far as what's happened and where we are at. What I ended up doing was processing an evening and a morning event, with 1 turn for each day. Evening and morning events were used in those cases where things were happening rapidly in the campaign.
Anyway, things will be much slower now. Tonight I'll process turn 5, then things should settle down nicely.
There will be reports and an update tonight.

Yes, we are in July, I just have a habit of putting June. It comes from me mis-remembering the day of the Battle of Manassas. Somewhere I picked up June 21 instead of July. I typically correct myself when I catch it.

Sometimes I still have difficulties when reading couriers or giving orders to know on which turn we are.
Please, can everyone add a date to their courier messages and situation reports.
For example July 27th means, turn 5 order has been processed and a Turn 6 order will be given on this day.
Thanks.

After New Market, turn 6 for you may be just wishful thinking.

Yes, I predict that between the lone Confederate soldier stationed there and the intervention of Providence, the Union should suffer a mighty defeat that will end the campaign.
Oh well, it was fun until justice intervened.

We just need to leave a silver fork on the railroad track, wait for Gen Georgia to see it and walk over, bend down... and be hit by the 11:00 freight from Edinburg.

What do you take me for? For a lone fork, I would send an aide. Now if it was a complete tea service...
