KSData.bin needed for loading savegame? Empty KSData.bin needed for loading savegame?

When loading a saved game with the KS mod, should the saved KSData.bin file also be placed in the saved games folder? Or is it only used in MP?

The KSData.bin file is automatically saved in the Saved Games folder along with the defsave.sav file. This is true for either SP or MP play. If you choose to restart an SP game, you must choose defsave.sav. The autosave files will likely create errors.

That is, is KSData.bin automatically updated to the KS data for whatever game is loaded via the save file, or will it have only information from the last played game with the KS mod?

The KSData file only has information about the last game played.

So if I understand correctly, KSData.bin is a *cumulative* file over the course of the battle, and not information that can be generated as soon as a scenario is loaded from a save?

The bin data is the current state of the KSMod. It records all the KS variable values for each unit.
