KS Napoleon Battle Monday, Oct 5th, 20:00BST, 15:00EST

This battle will require the use of version 1.13 of the KS mod.


The French army has entered Austria, despoiling the countryside.  To make matters worse the Bavarian Corps has declared Austrian beer unfit to drink and have begun breaking apart all the kegs they come across!  This intolerable situation cannot be allowed to continue.  Maréchal Lefebvre corps has been reported near the town of Pisek.  Two of his divisions have taken position on the north bank of the Mulde River.  

Feldmarschall Bellegarde's 1. Armeekorps has been sent north to dispatch the infidels.  Making very good progress over the past week, the Austrians have nearly covered the entire 10 kilometers separating the two forces.  The corps is now only 1 or 2 kilometers from the Mulde.  When needed the most, fortune has smiled on the Austrians.  A courier in transit from the Bavarian's advanced guard east of Budweis to the corp's headquarters has been captured by a cavalry patrol.  A dispatch informs Maréchal Lefebvre that the division is returning via the Pisek Strasse having dumped 47 casks of beer into the local stream.  He reports the agonized look on the faces of the civilian population has been the source of great merriment to the men.

Kevin, are all the enemy forces Bavarians or is it just the division coming in from the east?

There is a mixture of French and German brigades in the corps. If they are wearing blue, we should shoot at them.

So these Bavarian beer-hating heretics could be anywhere in the corps?

Yes, and there are a lot of them. They are beer swilling snobs, thinking there is no beer but Bavarian beer.

Good game all. You played very well Taff - was that your first time commanding a division? We ran out of time but given how things looked at the end we would have defeated the rest of those disgusting wine-drinking Frenchies.

Looking at the replay, Taff did a good job handling his division. Pity the Bavarian barbarians got away.
