SOW: Help on creating OOBs etc
Hi Chaps,
Having a first go at creating a new set of OOBs for the French Indian War. Picked up a book in a second hand book shop and thought would be fun. I tried a couple of Fontenoy battles set on the Chancellorsville maps with 100% trees which were great fun.
I was going to take sprites from the Fontenoy Mod for the main protagonists as well as the dismounted Indians from Little Big Horn and perhaps a mixture of troops from the Blenheim mod for Provincial militia types.
Not sure what to use for Ranger types at present.
Given the diversity of the size of battles I was thinking of creating two OOBs. One for the larger battles with separate battalions/Regiments, and the other for larger skirmishes with the battalions split into companies.
Whilst it is fairly straight forward editing an existing OOB,
The question I lay before the combined expertise of this August body, is "What files do I need to copy and into which folders?" once you start picking sprites from different mods.
Out of interest, but probably far beyond my capabilities at present, is how do people actually create the sprites. What software is used?
Many thanks chaps

Good choice for a mod. This is one that will appeal to many, both SYW fans in Europe and of course our sometime colonial settlers across the way.
Bit short of time right now for a long explanation but for ranger types there are a few ACW sprites that would be close-ish. I think Martin James is your man here as he gathered quite a few 'hairies' together for his half-breed scouts units in his Custer mod.
Hm. You missed one. Over there by that flat patch of ground near the other flat patch. Better start again.
