We are 5 and 5 for day till now. Please give the confirmation otherwise is hard decide the day and it is better also for the CIC because they can organize the armies in advance.

Arrivederci, Roma...
Good bye...au revoir...
Si ritrova a pranzo a Squarciarelli
fettuccine e vino dei Castelli
come ai tempi belli che Pinelli immortalò!
Err just tuning-up there. I know it’s not opera, but it is at least Italian - which is even better.
I can make either day, but not both

I had a moment of gooseflesh, like the last time I saw Alien vs Predator.

Sounds about right
What map are we playing on, Davide. Do players need any of the free maps or add-ons?

I confirm my presence for Friday.
Unfortunately I cannot be there Saturday night. I will be in Lucca with my love.

Good for you, Alberto! We have fond memories of Lucca. A terrific little town with a nice piazza. And you can walk around the town walls, which was great for wearing the kids out .

Yes Martin, Lucca is a nice town. Small and especially with its walls and "baluardi".
My kids are big now, so certainly I will relax more than you.

Re: Week-End with the scenario day - 28/02-01/03
I think we can start to make the teams, Suchet and Neal can be assigned on the same side a priori: if we have a sufficient number of players we can play friday the scenario otherwise saturday. In theory if the system works well I can do in time to prepare the second part also in time for saturday, but this will depend from the number of people scheduled.

Re: Week-End with the scenario day - 28/02-01/03
Well saturday we are at least 8, sufficient for cover all the divisions (if the CiCs took 1 division command), so I think the team can be done in advance. I suppose other players could join the same day.

you cannot sing to a Milanese something on Roma. Roma is beautiful but unluckily is full of Romans.

What type of game are we playing today, ACW or Nappy? Saturday's game will be ACW so perhaps a Nappy battle is in order. I suggest we use either the Brandy Station map or a Random Map 6.

Re: Week-End with the scenario day - 28/02-01/03
For me is ok Nap.
I think we can do the teams now for Saturday so the CiCs can assign the commands and gives briefing:
North:
Uncle Billy (Kevin) CiC
Neal
Martin (J)
Berthier
Blackstreet
South:
Hays (Niall) CiC
mitra
Digby (Martin)
Steve
little mac
Eventual additional players will be splitted. Is this subdivision ok? Someone wants switch of side?

Re: Week-End with the scenario day - 28/02-01/03
I sent to Niall and Kevin their detailed oob and starting locations area.
Few points I want remember :
1 - in the briefing i have set the two armies obj. but remember that they can be different from those of enemy, so consider that prevent to the enemy to reach own objectives is a objective also for you.
2 - the match will be part of a longer battle so dead, wounded, ammo consumed and locations will have heavy impact in the next match. So think with a longer POV. Lost a ammo wagon will mean more than usual because is very likely you will need new ammos in the next match, the points cumulated will impact the number of reinforcements, the objectives taken what going to happen in next battle. So be more careful about your force use, the exploration and watch against raids on your logicistic line.

Re: Week-End with the scenario day - 28/02-01/03
Because Niall is not sure if he can play today, we had a switch of players; Neal will be the the Confederate CiC and Digby will play with the north
North:
Uncle Billy (Kevin) CiC
Digby (Martin)
Martin (J)
Berthier
Blackstreet
South:
Neal CiC
Hays (Niall)
mitra
Steve
little mac
Richard
Because there is now also Richard in list I'll link him to the Confederates because in the eventually Hays cannot play they will be without a player.
Yesterday we checked also the system for scenario recover and we were able to restart a dropped game from the point we dropped.

That's excellent news. The game rarely drops these days, but it's good to know there's now a way to restart it.mitra wrote:Yesterday we checked also the system for scenario recover and we were able to restart a dropped game from the point we dropped.
Can you provide a step-by-step process please, and I'll make it a sticky.

Yes but advice that the system can be not perfect (generating it with the latest save of battle of yesterday, it crashed on a unit line generation so I have only a part of lines, probably because of some particular condition of unit itself.).
Anyway the steps are:
at the page 74 of sdk you find a command "dumpscen" – "This command writes out a scenario file of the current game. It saves in work/scenarios/scensave", so you need to associate it to some keys of your keyboard.
this generate a file scenario.csv with the actual data of battle; it contains the same data of scenario.csv of scenario generator, but because I think is was never used and it is perhaps a old command, the column starting from Pict are not aligned (I think Kevin can describe in a better english what to do).
After have corrected the file you can insert it in the scenario generator (assuming you used it, otherwise in similar directory under scenarios) and copy here the same files (battlescripts, maplocations, etc), and you can change the starting time of scenario in scenario.ini to that one of crash moment (in battlescript.csv you define the time of end).
Of course it is important that at least someone have the autosave option activated so to save a specific moment before the crash or save before the exit (if the crash doesn't force all the players to go out). Loading the saving file you can dump the scenario and have the file.
