Turn 8 - 7th Feb Media Reports
A loud explosion was heard coming from the Hue Airfield today. This has been the centre of on going fighting and after the explosion this area of the city has been very quiet.
The smoke cloud from the explosion can be seen throughout the city and reached far above the city. It is not known what caused this.
Further afield US forces have today recaptured the charred wasteland of what had been the Mekong Delta town of Bentre, a US major explained to the press: "It became necessary to destroy the town in order to save it"
It has also been reported that Quang Tri City is now clear of enemy forces and normality is starting to return. The mop up operations in the countryside continue to search for any remaining enemy forces.
