In the aftermath of the disaster at Waterloo, Napoleon has but one intact division remaining with which to slow down the Iron Duke’s vigorous pursuit. The Emperor has ordered these hardened veterans to stop the Anglo-Allies cold -– to buy him time to organize the additional resistance necessary to save Paris. Bonaparte has chosen to position these troops in the vicinity of the Sanok River.
Additional detail with battle particulars, mod requirements, and links to mod downloads will be posted soon. Note: a required mod (KSNapoleonMod) will see an update this week.
For now, players are encouraged to sign-up on Doodle. This will get us off to a fast start with CinC designations and early side assignments.
Sides -- French (commanded by Bonaparte) or Anglo-Allies (led by the Duke of Wellington) -- and specific commands will be determined from preferences expressed in the Doodle sign up and as players show up. This will take a few minutes, so please be patient. Most standard KS and HITS/GCM game practices will be in place (e.g., Army CinC’s, 10 minute Council of War at launch; foliage always turned-on, no restrictions on TC’ing subordinate leaders, etc.)
Make plans to be there – and be sure to register your side and command preferences early on Doodle!
A full-resolution map of the battlefield may be downloaded at:

See you there!

Excellent! Another opportunity to send Soldier on to glory.

It will be harder now that you've slowed your infantry-square assaults' speed to 1mph.

Actually I was hoping Ron would put us on the same side and the possibility of you doing glorious battle against twice your numbers while my men are lounging about eating bonbons was more of what I had in mind.

Yes. . . you can always count on little mac being in the thick of it, no matter how poorly led he is.

Hopefully, more so than the revered namesake (at least in the view of this 1864 Courier & Ives cartoon):
Caption: "The Gunboat Candidate at the Battle of Malvern Hill"
Text Bubble: "Fight on my brave Soldiers and push the enemy to the
wall, from this spanker boom your beloved General looks
down upon you."
Re: Special Waterloo III HITS/GCM Event: Saturday 27 July
If Soldier ends the fight with more than 10% of his original force, you know he was slacking. I always try to afford him the opportunity to give the last full measure. Though I must confess, Mitra arranges that far better than me.

Indeed. On Saturday Mitra was just scary. The words "butter", "hot knife" and "through" come to mind.

Re: Special Waterloo III HITS/GCM Event: Saturday 27 July
I have updated the KS Napoleon Mod to version 1.610. Some of the changes are:
1. Wooden fences have no effect on movement, fatigue or have any defensive value.
2. Formations were all rewritten. You should see much smoother deployment and less of the Chinese fire drill, where soldiers march from one end of the line to the other.
3. Skirmish formations are more potent. They have ~15% greater firepower than a line formation and they move significantly faster than men in column. This was done to encourage players to use what was a very important feature of napoleonic battlefields. Your light, legere, jager and grenzer units should be able to form skirmish lines.
4. If using the stock toolbar, all the formations selected from the combat page will maintain their formation while marching. They will not change to column, move and then change to their final formation.

Re: Special Waterloo III HITS/GCM Event: Saturday 27 July
And do we need to delete the Logistics file as before? I ask because, once again, I'm rebuilding by SOW:Gettysburg - Napoleonic Wars programs etc after yet another re-format of the HDD and re-installation of the OS, this time remembering to install all of the required updates to the OS. And yes, I did it just for the practice and fun of it, for those inquiring minds. Oh, yes, and also because I'm approaching senility at about warp factor 8 and cannot recall how these all fit together.

Kevin, with the stock toolbar there's no square formatoin button is there? Its my biggest reason not to use it. How do you form square?

But of course there is. It's on the combat page, (soldier firing his rifle). I form squares using the button. I only use the courier system if it is a unit that is not under my direct control and is about to be overrun. Then I send it a courier order. Sometimes it gets there in time and I hear Martin J. cussing under his breathe as his cavalry, unable to halt, destroys itself. Very satisfying.
Ike, yes when you install the Road To Wagram & Peninsula Mod, delete the \Logistics folder from it. The KS Napoleon Mod has all the logistics files in it.
