20th October - Shiloh: Bloody April
http://www.doodle.com/gsv88btfyi5wrva9
Players will take on the role of divisional and corps commanders from the Union Army of the Tennessee and the Confederate Army of the Mississippi. For each player we need an umpire to assist players in imposing their will on a shifting (and thickly forested) battlefield, as well as handling courier communications. We are looking at a minimum of 4 players and an equal number of umpires - ideally we would have 12 people attending, and there is scope for up to 9 players.
Ready for an exciting brawl on the banks of the Tennessee? Ready to take your skills from Scourge of War and match wits directly against the opposing generals - and your own chain of command?
Hopeful that some of our overseas members will just happen to be in the UK over October? (Unlikely, but who knows?)
See you there

Not this year, my friend, but one of these years in the not-too-distant future.

Cheers Mark, and great to have you in the doodle.
The numbers are starting to shape up well, though I'm hoping for another five.
That said, I'll keep working on my backup idea in case someone cancels or we have 7 or less on the day.

Bravo Ollie. I'll look forward to seeing you. One of the things I've been hoping for is cross-fertilisation (err...perhaps cross-over would be better ) between the Gettysburg players and the Kriegsspielers.
Justin and Diggers are now regulars for our face-to-face games, and I see that Niall is also signed-up for October. With you that will make 4!

Great to hear, Ollie!
I can't see your command preferences on Doodle (from work), but I'll look forward to seeing you there!
Martin, I'm not sure if you've had the opportunity to send out that email we were working on before?
Either way I'll get the Johnston/Grant emails out this weekend.

That's a bit worrying. I sent out a newsletter on the next 2 face-to-face games 2 days ago. At least I thought I did. I certainly received a copy myself. I was assuming that Ollie had signed-up in response to it. But perhaps notKhryses wrote:Martin, I'm not sure if you've had the opportunity to send out that email we were working on before?
Did anyone receive it? The subject line was 'Autumn 2013 kriegsspiels'.

Possibly you just didn't send it to me - assuming I'd already know about it?
The only reference I've seen was the 'The next 2 face-to-face kriegsspiels' post in the forum, which was where I found the link to the November doodle.

The first thing to check is if the users who did not get a message have spam filters at work that they know about?
Just checked the options and if you set it to all members they should have got one?

Well your preference set up says no to the newsletter, so if you colonials do not want to be touched by the empire, what can we do?Uncle Billy wrote:I never received one. But I had assumed this was for Brits only. Jingoist.
As for that Aussie who has some how managed to get past UK immigration he has his set to yes so should have got it. I suggest check spam filters in that case...

Well yes, contamination by former colonial oppressors is best avoided, however, I suppose I can make an exception in this case.

This is correct, I got your email "Autumn 2013 kriegsspiels". Good job.Martin wrote:That's a bit worrying. I sent out a newsletter on the next 2 face-to-face games 2 days ago. Look forward to meeting y'all! I'm assuming the Little Gaddesden villiage hall allows excessive cigar smoking and whisky drinking - or is this just a lightweight KS for beginners?

With any luck (and some decent weather) we'll adjourn to the Bridgewater Arms afterwards to drown our sorrows/celebrate our glorious victory. The honoured dead can buy the first round...

What time are people supposed to arrive by? Haven't seen this anywhere, but I assume the earlier we start, the better?
