FridaySaturday 1819 January -> free training session?
Because I cannot attend to campaign battle, I propose for people who cannot play the match (in the case of friday all the people who can of course), to organize a free battle (20:00 GMT) especially dedicated to training of people new to HITS. I propose the usual standard HITS but we will permitted to speak for ask gameplay tips or help about "how to do something".
In my case I can both friday and saturday, so eventually we can also organize a two different sessions

Ok, probably also Suchet will join us. I think the more expert can train to use bigger formations.

A training game like this ought to be a regular part of the Gettysburg Group's schedule. Of course, without new recruits .... But perhaps whenever a player who is either new to SOW or new to HITS joins up, we ought to conduct a brief basic training, including a list of mods to have and those to avoid, settings that work best on PC's, game settings for HITS and MP games, TS settings and related matters, plus one game with unrestricted TS coms to allow the new recruit to ask any and all questions in-game and get help and pointers on the spot (nothing big, brigade vs. brigade perhaps). Follow-up with a "New Division Commanders" game, division vs. division, like the basic training game. Of course, folks who are already familiar with SOW won't need all that, but having a structured way to bring new players into the HITS hetrodoxy would help new players tremendously. Just my tuppence .. thruppence .. ha'penny.

Yesterday session went very well; both Grog and Suchet managed very well the command of corps in a large battle (21000 men for side). The general moving of corps worked as planned at the start and they managed to create solid front with of both the corps without mixing the troops of two formations, and artillery placed in a very good location for shoot. I give the to Grog for his impressions about command a full corps.
This evening 20:00 gmt we will have another session

We did a good training, saturday with Boldrover; we explained him how to use the command map (it was not set in his keyboard) and how better manage a full division and the artillery. I proposed to Suchet to make another training day Friday evening

Thanks Davide, it's always good to have more people prepared for HITS.
