November 18th game

And we appear to have eight takers for the day so far.

The game will be a good old detachments one, possibly using the Metz map. When I last checked there were very few pockets of undead so I am comfortable billing the game as likely to be mid 19th century.

Any extra players please let me know, equally if anyone cannot make it please tell me and ill tweak things accordingly.

Any preferences re roll which I can take in to account in the planning?

11:00am start, 4:00pm finish. Sometimes a debrief and a drink in the local pub.

We're still also hoping to have our inaugural 'club' AGM that day. Steve Hockin has been working on a draft constitution and agenda for this, which he will post shortly for comments.

Assuming those ducks are in a row by the 18th, should we aim to have the AGM in the pub? It's less convenient in some ways, but would leave more time for the game.

A final reminder that this coming Sunday's face-to-face game is a traditional Reisswitz kriegsspiel set in the mid 19th C. Units will be infantry battalions, cavalry squadrons, and artillery batteries.

The game will be held at our usual venue in Little Gaddesden, a few miles N of Hemel Hempstead, and will run from 11 am to 4 or 4.30 pm.

This will be followed by our inaugural AGM at the Bridgewater Arms, just down the road from the village hall. As well as electing club officials, we will also be discussing how we move the club forward. This will include such matters as whether we introduce an anual membership charge instead of charging for each game.

As my better half is busy on Sunday I will be eating in pub after if people don't mind me having a meal while we discuss AGM matters....



Also means I do not have to rush home.....

Hope you are OK? You missed a good game and the AGM went off OK.

I can answer that. Saw an email from Digby when I got home. His car wouldn't start and he had tried to phone me several times but was unable to get through. He has suggested that several of us swap mobile numbers. That's a good idea, as I find it hard to get a signal at Little Gaddesden, and I think some others do too.

Best of luck to Diggers re the car.........
