November game
Dear All
I am planning a late nineteenth century detachments game intended as a sequel to the convoy escort game run by Martin a coupe of months ago. I reckon ten players/umpires would be workable though obviously the more the merrier!
Originally the game was scheduled for 29th November.
In order to vary the venue I have an opportunity to use Eton Wick village hall which is between Slough and Windsor, easily accesible from J7 of the M4. I can book the hall from 1230 till 1800 on SATURDAY 28th November (note this is a change from the originally proposed date).
Cost to rent the hall would be £60 which I would propose splitting amongst the attending players.
So, can you let me know via this forum or direct to my E mail (steve_hockin@hotmail.com) if you want to take part and are happy with the date and cost arrangements. If interest is low we could revert to the Sunday at Hemel as originally proposed.
If I could get an idea on wheher this is a goer by the Friday that would help everyone in firming up arrangements.
Cheers
Steve

Re: November game
Hi
I haven't played a kriegsspiel game yet, but would love to get involved. I am in Egham, so could assist with set up etc.
All the best

Re: November game
Hi Mike
It will be good to have you along.
So far numbers responding to Saturday with a cost are low. If I get no more takers Ill look at a private venue for either Sat or Sun.
Any other takers for the game and if so any preferences for day or location?
Cheers

Re: November game
Sticking with the Sunday would be slightly better for us Steve. In which case there will definitely be 3 in our car - ie Phil, Richard & myself.
Phil is supposed to be working on the Saturday, but will try & switch shifts if the game is then.

Re: November game
Hi Mike
Yes it's still on Mike. We've been a bit up in the air on the day & venue, but both are now fixed.
The game will be on Sunday 29th, and will start at 11 am and finish about 4 pm. We''ll be holding it in a new venue in Little Gaddesden which is just north of Hemel.
Steve Hockin is running the game, and will provide more details shortly. It will be a traditional mid 19th C game.
Look forward to seeing you there. I know Steve could fit more in, so if anyone else is interested please let me know.

Re: November game
Dear all
Sorry for the delay in firming up day and venue.
Day is now confirmed as Sunday 29th November.
Time 1100 sharp for a 1545 finish
Location.
Little Gaddesden Village Hall
Little Gaddesden
Berkhamstead
Herts
HP4 1PA
We will split the £30 cost quoted between us on the day so bring some cash!
Usual logistical arrangements apply i.e. bring along some cake for mid game. I suggest those that wish to bring along a lunch to have on the hoof if required. Tea coffee and milk will be brought but as this is the first time we have used this venue I am not sure what the cup and mug situation is!
The game will be a mid C19th detachments one loosely following on from the Konigratz supply column event ran by Martin. We often say it would be good to see what would have happened next. Well here is our chance!
So far we have 7 definites: me, Mark, John, Phil, Richard Daglish, Martin and Mike.
Any one have preferences for roles?
I can accomodate more players/umpires so if anyone else wants to take part let me know asap and I will finalise the scenario and forces based on the numbers.
Briefings for the Cin Cs will go out about a week before so let me know in good time.
All the best
Steve

I am definitely interested. I am travelling from Kenilworth, Warwickshire so anyone requiring/offering a lift would be welcome.
I would also consider being an umpire but I haven't done that before for this kind of game so that may be an issue.
Cheers,
Richard

Re: November game
Dear all
Sunday the 29th November is approaching rapidly.
I have contacted a couple of people directly with their roles as players. I have also earmarked a couple of names as umpires.
Depending on final numbers through the door I can add a number of sub commanders and will reinforce the umpire team accordingly.
Any questions please drop me an E mail direct or post here.
See you next week
