Re: German Maps 1:25,000
May be a memory issue. I just went to the site and accessed the maps. When going from a thumbnail to a full sized map, that was when I got an insufficient memory message on my machine.

Germany at 1-25000 – well suited to traditional Kriegsspiel detachment games
Germany at 1;25000 – well suited to traditional Kriegsspiel detachment games
From memory, they are almost all pre-1945 and some go back to 1877. So, railways but no autobahns shown!
Though Greifswald Uni is in Mecklenburg, the maps seem to originate from anywhere in Germany, though there are perhaps more from NE Germany and the Polish border area – good for the Swedish campaigns perhaps?
Will download as many usable ones as poss, and then have some fun colouring them!
Initial consumer focus group reactions were good, see below:-

Mein Gott Paul! There's thousands of them.
A mix of dates and variance in styles, but many would be great for operational level k/s. A bit of colouration would be good.....perhaps just for roads, rivers, woods and bridges?

Look for the map overview on the site
They are also likely to appear ON THIS SITE as I download the best ones and colour them

Well done that fellow. What a wonderful find.
Potential for island invasions too...

Gosh, I just found the Godschitzer Forest! And the smaller but crazier PsychoGodSchitzer Forest!
This map needs a KS fought over it!

Godschitzer Forest
He's not wrong!
The Godschitzer and the PsychyGodschitzer are two of the wooded areas around Schwarzwald, a place with a chronic lack of public conveniences, forcing its inhabitants to make frequent trips into the forest.
Unsurprisingly, the local military is not terribly keen on fighting over these areas, but this may have to change.
