Free modding work on Reisswitz Kriegsspiels
Hi,
I am a french wargamer and I have began a special modding work with a old computer wargame named :
"CIVIL WAR GENERAL 2" (CWG2)
This old (but very excellent wargame) may be downloaded as free, here :
http://www.cwg2.org/
CWG2 is a old but very complete kriegsspiel that simulate all aspects of battles (training, experience, health, morale, quality of leader, etc) : all parameters may be edited in excel files and all graph may be modified with little special programs I have in my possession.
My work has for object to adapt this game to the old "Reisswitz Kriegsspiels"
IA of CWG2 is very good and very fast, and the game has a map/scenario editor : all conditions are ok to recreate a sort of "PC Reisswitz Kriegsspiels" (with adaptations, evidently)
Thanks

Sounds interesting. I think the forum software does not let you post links until you have made so many posts, in order to stop spammers.

Hera are screens (oob and a little close battle)
https://i.servimg.com/u/f47/14/77/32/83/battle12.jpg
The scree has been taken in the editor. During game, a hex grid comes on the map

(note that some minors change have been made in the graph after I took this screen)
I will add other heavy cavalry : carebineers, horse grenadiers
and some light cav : chasseurs (Cav Jaggers)
All parameters weapons have been adapted for the mod. The system may be played human vs human or human vs IA

Re: Free modding work on Reisswitz Kriegsspiels
Following are some usefull links concerning the game CWG2 : usefull to read this, before to use the mod system (learning the game). In addition, the complete manuel of the game is awailable in the rar file on the download provided link for the game (see first post)-Note that the site where the game may be downoloaded is not mine, but seems be a "fan CWG2 site".
Links :
http://willisnyc.tripod.com/
(STRATEGIC AND TACTIC GUIDE FOR CWG2)
http://cwg2.multiply.com/
(HERE ARE VERY INTEReSSANT STUFFS FOR THE GAME = tactic notes, quick card for rules and units, guide for scenario editor, etc)
When the mod will be awailable, I will insert in the "mod readme" a link to Kriegsspiel News site, for playery who would want to discover the classic original "Kriegsspiel" and who would want to buy the translated rule.
Note : you must be logged on this site to be in order to follow by clicking the posted links (if not, you must copy them in your navigator)
