MDF Kriegspiel Blocks by Sarissa Precision
Dear All,
Long time no post due to work etc.
I have been looking at alternative blocks to help keep costs down in these times of "miltary budget" cutbacks and quite by accident came across Sarissa Precision who produce 2mm and 3mm thick laser cut bases for wargaming figures. I wondered if they would be able to cut small blocks suitable for wargaming purposes and emailed them. You could ask for different sized blocks depending on the game.
For £5 I received a sample set of the following 3mm laser cut blocks.
25 std inf 1/2 btn blocks
30 1/2 bty blocks
20 cav blocks 10 x 10mm
30 detachment blocks for 1862 0.75mm square
30 small detachment blocks 0.5mm square
25 skirmisher blocks
They are weighty enough not to blow around. Painted will probably be better than using the paper but would take longer.
They come precut with black edges. They can be painted if sealed first, or you can use the handy paper blocks available on this very group and simply stuck on. I will post a picture soon.
If people are interested, you can comment here or contact Steve at Sarissa.
www.sarissa-precision.co.uk The blocks are not listed. The site merely says please let us know if you have a special order.
It may be possible to get a larger number of blocks of one size similar to the packs of bases they do rather than a selection.
Disclaimer. I have nothing whatsoever to do with the company. I merely found them on google whislt looking for precut bases for miniature figures.
I've been having problems getting on the group and would just like to say a big thank you to Mark J for his invaluable help. Its generally a thankless task being an administrator especially when yo have to deal with disgruntled members!
