The CinC (Commander-in-Chief) will be tasked to develop a strategy and write battle orders some days before game launch.
- 1 week before the game: If there are roughly enough players, I will assign all committed players to teams, appoint the chief commanders, and then send the initial briefing to players by e-mail. CinC begin to write their orders and assign players of their team to available slots. Additional players may still join the game up to 3 days before the game start.
- 1-3 days before: Players receive their orders by their CinC. If there aren't enough players committed to meet the minimum requirements, the game will be cancelled.
- 30 minutes before game start: Meet in the K/S teamspeak lobby - strategy discussion and questions

Re: MP Scenario 2: Supply Lines (9th June)
I will cancel this event of 8th or 9th June as there were only 3 subscribers yet, and the EURO 2012 collides with our saturday evening games in June
Would there be any demand to play early games on a saturday or sunday, like 1400 UK time?

And? So?Leffe7 wrote:the EURO 2012 collides with our saturday evening games in June
You cancelled a game 9 days before playing it? Isn't that a little hasty?

Ok, I'll show my sports ignorance, what is Euro 2012? The emoticon implies basketball.

Unfortunately there was no emoticon for soccer, but with some imagination you can see a goalkeeper in this:
I added some more possible dates in doodle - please check it out.

So noted - and filled out.
Am honestly very happy to either continue broadening my cavalry expertise or attempt to obliterate them - and if you do render them unable to charge, that will be all kinds of interesting for this one.

Assume we're still on for this?
Noticing the numbers haven't increased greatly since I last checked.

Even if there aare not enough players for the scripted scenario, don't cancel the event. We can still gather and play a sandbox game at thaat time.

Re: MP Scenario 2: Supply Lines (9th June)
As there aren't enough players for the scenario yet, I haven't sent out any briefings.
I just had an idea for the sandbox games. We could improve them a bit by doing the following:
1) start sandbox game as usual, but with marked friendly units on the minimap
2) make a printscreen of the minimap and exit
3) discuss a strategy in teamspeak. CinC gives his orders. (works both for coop or vs games)
4) start the sandbox game as a scenario, but this time with a bare map

Re: MP Scenario 2: Supply Lines (9th June)
Good idea.
Remember there is also Garniers single-player campaign tool which Hays and I tested several weeks ago and which can be used in MP.
There is also the casualty-carry over camapign tool Hays wrote for my campaign. I am sure we could use that to help create connected sandbox battles in some way.

I thought the GCM mod would conflict with hits and couriers -- But a carryover vs or co-op sandbox game sounds good using Hays' carry over tool. Maybe a 2 or 3 part sandbox series, since it is rare that either corps is destroyed within the first game.

Which time are we on for?

I'm busy preparing the BBQ before watching todays soccer games... Sorry can't play today. The doodle indicates there are not enough players for the scenario yet.

Very well, then not this evening either - will probably sleep instead of sandboxing.

Re: MP Scenario 2: Supply Lines (9th June)
There will be people on this evening Khryses - from the usual UK time of 19:00 to 19:30. Its a standard Saturday fixture now.
Stefan - if you cancel a game, can you give us some warning please? 48 or 72 hours? People can then still meet and prepare for a sandbox game.

Re: MP Scenario 2: Supply Lines (9th June)
Ok, I think there was some misunderstanding (sorry, if you missed me yesterday). Therefore I suggest we shouldn't mix scenario dates and sandbox dates. When I'm scheduling possible scenario dates I will inform the players always several days before about when the game will happen (If there is no briefing, then there is no scenario game!). And I cannot guarantee to play on each of the possible dates, but only on the selected one.Mr. Digby wrote:There will be people on this evening Khryses - from the usual UK time of 19:00 to 19:30. Re: MP Scenario 2: Supply Lines (9th June)
What I am suggesting is that if a scenario is set for a date and you don't get enough players, then say so here (rather than just not sending out briefings which isn't the same thing) and then those who are interested can convert what was to be the scenario game meeting into a casual meeting. If a game needs 8 players for example and 6 register an interest and are available on that date, it seems a waste to not then play a sandbox game for those 6 players.Leffe7 wrote:Ok, I think there was some misunderstanding (sorry, if you missed me yesterday).
