Saturday 16th May 2009 : Horse & Musket Game
Paul Dowden is running a mid nineteenth century game, based either in Germany or USA.
Midscale..... i.e. brigade or regiment rather than division or battalion.
Game is at Hemel Hempstead. 2.30 pm start.

Not listed on Richard's events list so I guess that list needs updating.
We also seem to have a long list of past events for which we await a narrative.

It takes some work to design & run a game. It takes a more effort to then write it up.
I really look forward to reading them, particularly where I haven't been able to attend, but it's perhaps not realistic to expect write-ups for all games. People just don't have the time.
Personally I would rather encourage a wider group to run more games. I would not want anyone to be put off by the thought that a write-up is also expected. If they feel moved to produce on on the other hand.........

Which is why getting it done the same or next day is so important. The longer people delay doing the write-up the less likely it is to happen. I try and write-up my part the same night or first 'free' evening in the following week. Of course as an umpire collating takes much longer.

Re: Saturday 16th May 2009 : Horse & Musket Game
The game is now being brought forward a week to Saturday 16th May. The scenario is being finalised, but is likely to be a horse and musket game set somewhere in the Benelux region.
For those who have already signed up, we hope that does not inconvenience you, and can you please confirm whether or not you can still make it.
Two questions:
1. If anyone has a clear plastic map protector, like Steve used last time, it would be helpful if you could bring it along.
2. How do we change the topic name, now that the date has been switched from the 23rd?

Thanks to Paul for organising the game.
There were 9 attendees, Paul, myself and David James umpired.
Hopefully a few of the players might post a report sometime..

Game Report
My forces marched towards the bridges at full speed.
Nothing happened as they marched towards bridge of any note worth.
Game ended just as my forces arrived at bridge and about to engage enemy cavalry screen.
Not sure if I can add much more?
