Game Saturday Mar. 8th 20:30 BST
I'll be on TS today if anyone is interested in a game today. Any preference for ACW or Nappy?

Re: Game Saturday Mar. 8th 20:30 BST
Whenever Niall is in command, I always know I will be involved in an "interesting" battle. This one was the ugliest fight I have ever had. We blundered into the enemy fairly quickly. The rebels held the high ground and it quickly became apparent that we would not be able to dislodge them. They drove us back easily and then mounted a fearsome counter attack. I thought we would be completely overrun, another first, but our grand battery in the center of our line stopped two determined charges. Those guns inflicted heavy casualties.
Both armies separated to reform and rest. The Union had fewer regiments to nurse back to health as many had already headed to the rear and out of the battle. The artillery went to work on the enemy infantry and part of one battery was tasked with destroying the confederate guns. In the end, six enemy guns were driven off.
After a lull in the infantry fighting of half an hour, the rebels mounted yet another attack, this time on our right flank. This was away from our guns, so they would be of little help. It was another large attack and our troops just barely held the line and forced the enemy to withdraw again. I believe during this part of the battle, Niall was in his tent drinking heavily, trying to come up with a masterstroke which would win the battle and stave off a court martial.
With the rebel guns largely silenced, we were ordered to attack. The enemy left was weakest, so Jack's troops were to begin the attack in that sector. However, my men were tired of being solely on the defensive and smelled the weakness in the enemy's resolve. They advanced. Making good progress at first, it appeared that the confederates fed in their whole force to stop my attack. Indeed they did stop it, but that left their right completely undefended and Jack's troops advanced, captured the remaining rebel guns and turned to attack the enemy's rear. Just then the heavens opened in a deluge ending the battle.
