The “Old Maps Online” site
I believe thanks are due to Mark for putting us onto Old Maps Online, which links into other sites mentioned on this forum such as the "Mapy" site from the Czech Republic.
Online readers are provided on OMO for numerous historical maps from both Europe and the Americas.
Here for example can be had, by focusing in, a very nice contemporary map of Armenia during the Russo – Turkish War of 1788.
Just adjust your chosen map so the desired area fits the screen, use the PRT SCR key to capture it as a bitmap, and then paste into the graphics editor of your choice.
Mr Digby appears already to have found here the originals on which the GSOW Fox's Gap and Crampton's Gap maps are based!
