Nordkrieg, or Land Battleships in the 1930s
Hi all
My most recent project which I have begun to set up in the last 2-3 months on the IKS Discord server where our buddy Neal hangs out is a PBEM (or rather Play By Discord Message = PBDM) team Kriegsspiel set in an alternative 1930s where there was no Great War. Things will be a bit old-fashioned and hopelessly imperialistic with aviation being set firmly in the biplane era with only a few lo-wing monoplane designs coming along. Armoured cars will be mostly antiquated and will cover everything from civilian lorries covered with boiler plate, through the Spanish Civil War styles to the late 30s when multi-axle drive and auto-cannon equipped turrets became a useful thing.
Tanks and other tracked AFVs will focus on the designs of the 20s and 30s when nobody had yet worked out what a future war of mobile armoured combat might look like and the ideas of the Liddell Harts, the Vladimir Triandafillovs and the Guderians are still in their formative moments. Tank design will be largely split between the small fast tankette armed with a machine gun or a weak cannon and the "Char de Rupture" concept of a breakthrough behemoth crewed by the equivalent of almost a platoon and bristling with cannon in all directions. There will be some very early 1940s vehicles but the models I use will be given different battlefield "stats" to the historic originals, so a British A9 might look like an A9 but could have significantly better armour.
I and my local group of wargame friends will be fighting the battles on the tabletop using a very simplified combination of Charles Grant's "Battle!" and Frank Chadwick's "Command Decision 3" rules that I have cobbled together myself.
I have a map already set up and two alliances made up of three nations each. I have managed to attract a few players already from the IKS but could use a few more, so if anyone feels that this gaming concept appeals, please show your interest here. The roles I am seeking will be strategic map commands and players will most likely be subordinate army or front commanders who will join an existing team.
Minimum criteria are that you will need to join the IKS Discord Server as well as have a (free) DropBox account to access the shared files and folders for your alliance.
If anyone is interested I'm happy to answer any questions.

Is the IKS discord server the same as "Kriegsspiel Group" server with napoleon graphic? Or is there another, more secret and exclusive, server?!

It is the IKS Discord server which is the group set up by our dear old Californian friend Marshal. I sent you the link by PM. If anyone else is interested, just ask here or PM. Thanks.

One of my Ostrus players has had to leave the game so there's an open slot if anyone wants to be a Tsarist megalomaniac!
