KS and SOWWL setup

Hi everyone!

I'm new to kriegsspiel and scourge of war in general. I recently discovered SOWWL while browsing the internet for Napoleonic wargames because I had grown tired of Napoleon total war. I am obsessed with Napoleonic history so you can probably imagine how excited I was when I found out about kriegsspiel and SOWWL. However, I've had some issues with SOWWL that have prevented me from playing with the KS mod. (Also just to clarify all of the issues I have been having happened before I downloaded the KS mod)

-the game options are not saving, so I have to play on a lower resolution and readjust my settings every time I play
-Sandbox games cause an immediate CTD, so I am stuck with the base scenarios
-I can load the latest version of the grog toolbar, but not the KS mod because that requires a game restart and my settings are not saving
-When I play the scenarios my scores are not saved

I have made sure to click apply changes each time I change any settings and it never saves. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I have also verified the integrity of the game files multiple times on steam. Steam notified me that I was supposed to have to enter a product key when I launched SOWWL, but SOWWL never asked me for one. I was told by Uncle Billy that I need to have a SOWWL.ini file, but I could not seem to find it in the files. If anyone has any idea what my issue could be I would love to hear what you think!

Welcome to the forum.
As I said, you wouldn't be able to start the game without the ini file.  Have you located the C:\Users\your user name on this computer\Documents\SOWWL\ folder.  The file is in there.  Are you running the game as Administrator?

I'm so sorry I haven't been able to locate the file. I went to users and couldn't find the documents folder you described. Is that because I own the game on steam?

Also I'm not sure how to run it as administrator. Usually just right click the program and there will be an option for that, but I didn't see that option this time. I just checked the properties by right clicking on my desktop shortcut and it seem to have permission to do everything it should.

There must be a Documents or My Documents folder. It's been a part of Windows since WinXP.
