Re: SoW DLC Maps
I tried that and got a level not found error right off the bat. The text file shows:
The other thing I noted is that Matrix puts a bitmap file while the scenario editor only looks for a .jpeg. I tried to convert the bitmap to a .jpeg using Microsoft Paint ( I know.... its what was handy ) and it comes out in grayscale. But the editor does pick it up even if it looks lousy.
I'm going to go take a look at the scenario config file while waiting for your reply.

Re: SoW DLC Maps
There are 5 files associated with each map:
mapname.bmp
mapname.csv
mapname.ini
mapname.lsl
mapname_MM.dds
You'll need all five files in the MAPS folder of one of the mods. You can even set up a new mod specifically for then, it will need to only be:
[MyMapsMod]
[Maps]
The [ ] indicate a folder.
If the map uses new 3d objects like houses then you'll need another top-level folder in your mod called [Packages] and in here goes:
mapname.dat
If the map uses new 2d objects like vegetation then you'll need another folder in your mod called [Graphics] and in here a subfolder called [Terrain] in here goes all the .dds graphic files associated with the trees, bushes, crops, etc.

Re: SoW DLC Maps
I'm tempted to buy the new Wavre DLC but I see no point unless our regular MP group all get it as well. Has anyone got plans to buy it?

Re: SoW DLC Maps
I don't. Maybe I'll get it during the Xmas sale, but not at full price. We already have the Meckel map for river defense. From what I've seen, it's superior to Wavre.

Re: SoW DLC Maps
I bought Wavre today and had a sandbox game on it. I like it quite a bit. It has a feel about halfway between Die Heugel and Ligny - its quite hilly which was a surprise. Its got a lot of towns on it but no fortified positions. The main Dyle river is not crossable except at bridges. While the Dyle valley is broad and open there's lots of interesting terrain around the map edges although we'd need to thin out the woods quite a lot I think. The towns are a bit 'thin' mostly just being houses without any enclosures but on the whole its a nice map.

Re: SoW DLC Maps
Am I missing something? There never seems to be any water in the rivers, just a muddy ditch. I have every graphic setting I can see turned to the highest setting. Is there something else to do?

Re: SoW DLC Maps
The Waterloo maps have no water graphic, just textured ditches. There were water surface graphics in Gettysburg but their success was a bit hit and miss (sometimes they look pretty good, other times they look terrible) so I assume for WL that NSD didn't use the surface layer idea.

Re: SoW DLC Maps
This is one of the GB maps ( PCL2_Italy.csv ) so I guess this is one of the "miss" ones. I did discover the rivers worked on the Antietam Maps so obviously it was not a game setting.
Thanks for the tidbit.

Re: SoW DLC Maps
Yes I should have said "some of" the GB maps. IIRC its only Gettysburg, Antietam, Chancellorsville and Brandy Station. Some of the free maps like Lynchburg and Chattanooga have it on major rivers only.

Re: SoW DLC Maps
For those interested there's a 50% sale of all WL games - but only on Steam, not through Matrix:
