Current Version: 1.14
Compatible with: 1.18 KS Mod
Download: Version 1.14
Multiplayer Server: Hamachi
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTICE: DELETE ANY OLD VERSION OF THE SWEDISH INTERVENTION MOD BEFORE INSTALLING
1. Open the downloaded rar archive by double clicking on the archive icon.
2. Go to your Mods folder located in the Game Directory (the location that your game is installed)
3. Drop the folders named "KS Napoleon Mod 1 18" and "Swedish Intervention Mod 1 14" from the rar archive into the mods folder by selecting the folders and dragging them.
4. It will ask for you to overwrite files, press accept. If this step doesn't occur, then you've done something wrong.
5. Restart the game/Start the game and enable the mod in the modifications screen, then restart the game again.
6. Play and enjoy.
If you encounter any bugs or problems, or you simply just want to ask a question, please do so.
If you're wondering about upcoming features or existing ones, please view the "README.txt" file, where many of those questions could be answered. If those questions aren't answered, then simply ask them to me here, directly.
A Special Thank you to Andrew, Uncle Billy, Miko, Mr. Digby, Morsey and everyone else.

Excellent, I'll try this out. We may also be able to use these in an 1813 OOB. Perhaps you could make us some Saxons.

Great. Before you do however, there's a fix on its way to make the multiplayer work with the game, version 1.11 will clear any issues in regards to that. We'll see about the saxons.

Also, I'd very much appreciate it if this would be stickied if that would be okay. Thanks ahead.

Re: Swedish Intervention: A Sub-Mod for Kriegsspiel
Thanks very much Jeanathan, this looks great. Sweden is one of the major sets we are missing from the Nap set of uniforms.
Did the Swedish uniforms change much between 1807 and 1813?

Not that much, no. Here is the list which I have tried to design and model the swedish uniforms from. It's very accurate and neat. http://www.swordandsabre.com/serv02.htm
Also, thank you for the praise. Of course, the sprites aren't the best but I hope to see them improved in the future.

That's a very nice resource. I once painted a SYW Swedish army in 15mm but that was about 20 years ago and I am not sure where my reference material all went. Have you made the sprite for the regiment that wears the tricorne/bicorne?

Re: Swedish Intervention: A Sub-Mod for Kriegsspiel
To my knowledge, the changes weren't something as major as the ones prussians had but the uniforms did change. For the sake of ease, the site that jeanathan linked, was used exclusively when making the sprites eventhough certain uniforms changed from 1802 to 1807.

Re: Swedish Intervention: A Sub-Mod for Kriegsspiel
All the sprites are either reused from the existing KS sprites or/and recoloured to fit the Swedish army.
I wish I could get 100 % accurate sprites, but making the sprites myself would take too much time. In the meantime, I've made neat look-alike sprites. The bicorne/tricorne regiment is recoloured from the Prussian 06 musketeers.

What a lovely surprise. Many thanks Jeanathan.
Some of those sprites would make a very nice addition to one of the Lace Wars mods.

Does not work for me. Installed into mods folder. Followed the instructions. When clicking to play I get instant shutdown of the game. Mods used Swedish and the latest three KS Mods. The orbat just looks like squiggles to me.
[ A general note about using mods. This seems to be a typical experience for me. I have basic computer knowledge and rely on instructions being spelled out. Too often I find more computerate users miss out specifying actions because they seem too obvious to do in their mind.]

That is very odd Volunteer, no one else has had that problem. Please locate your logfile at your documents, there should be a folder called "SoWWL" Go into that folder and locate a file called "SoWWL.txt", that's the logfile. Open that file and then copy the text and paste it here so I may know what the problem is.

Re: Swedish Intervention: A Sub-Mod for Kriegsspiel
Indeed, it seems you might not have installed it properly. I'll give you more precise instructions.
First, download the latest version.
Second, Once it's done downloading, open the rar archive.
Third, go to your mods folder which should be located in your game directory.
Fourth, drop the two folders that are inside the rar archive into your mods folder.
Fifth, and now, it will ask for you to replace a few files, accept it.
Sixth, now, make sure you start the game after you've completed all the previous steps.
Seventh, once you've started the game, go to your modifications and enable the Swedish Intervention mod, then restart the game.
Finally, if that doesn't work, then I have no idea what could be wrong.

Re: Swedish Intervention: A Sub-Mod for Kriegsspiel
All is now good, thank you for your assistance.
Two points to note: in my first attempt step five did not occur. Also the number of files to be replaced was a lot!
Opening folders with 7zip has an inherent catch it is very easy to install a duplicate folder which in this case was Swedish Intervention etc > Swedish Intervention. It is something so easily done. That duplication was the root problem.
I shall contribute to your survey after trying your mod; your efforts to make it are appreciated.

Great to hear. The number of files that are replaced shouldn't effect your game if you decide to just play the KS mod, it basically just adds text to the KS files.
Thanks for your feedback and we all have our issues with technology at some point in life.

Re: Swedish Intervention: A Sub-Mod for Kriegsspiel
Yes this duplicate level of folders is the most common problem we find with SoW mod installation.
My suggestion is when you click on the downloaded archive and open it, DO NOT select the option to "extract files to" but simply highlight the folder(s) you see inside the archive with a click of the left mouse button and still holding the button down, drag them into your SoW Mods folder. This requires that you have your Windows Explorer open at the SoW Mods folder location as well. That way you won't get the duplicate folder.

Re: Swedish Intervention: A Sub-Mod for Kriegsspiel
I followed the directions in Jeanathan's post but first, there was only one folder in the rar file, not two...Swedish intervention 1.1...in it are the following folders graphics, OOB's, layout and sounds and three text documents...if I simply move the 1.1 folder into my mod file where does the "overwrite" come into play?

Your download could be corrupted. Do you have good connection? Try these instructions:
Also, when you unpack the archive make sure you select the folders In the archive and drag the folders into the mod folder.

Second, Once it's done downloading, open the rar archive.
Third, go to your mods folder which should be located in your game directory.

Re: Swedish Intervention: A Sub-Mod for Kriegsspiel
Tried it again with version 1.12...the good news is that the rar file produced two folders, KS Mod Napoleon Mod 118 and Swedish Intervention 112. I moved both into the mods folder of the game but there was no "overwrite". I had KSMod Napoleon 117 in the folder already. Since both folders are "new" to my game folder what files would overwrite?
Started game and notice two things...all the user scenarios are gone and in the sandbox option, there are far fewer nationalities by year...the Swedish 1807 option is there but that's about it. Something is still not right.

Re: Swedish Intervention: A Sub-Mod for Kriegsspiel
You are aware that there is a new version of the KS mod? Version 1.18. That's why there was no message about replacing files. There's even a text file that says that the Swedish Intervention mod is only compatible with the current KS mod version 1.18. It also says so on this thread. Download the latest version of the KS mod and then redo the installation of the Swedish intervention mod.

Re: Swedish Intervention: A Sub-Mod for Kriegsspiel
Getting v118 first appears to have fixed everything...I loaded v118, then pulled over the Swedish intervention 112 and v118 folder, it asked me to overwrite a number of files, which I did...I then checked Swedish intervention and v118 in the mods program, resign and reloaded...haven't played yet but it looks like everything that's supposed to be there is there...thanks for your help.

Hi Jeanathan, nice work. Do you mind if I merge all the Swedish Intervention threads into one to keep it tidy? Do as Kevin does with the KS Mod and post at the end of the thread but link back to the first post and update the link in that post.
