Indeed, welcome to the forum. I too hope you can join us for our MP battles. You'll see that the toolbar we use is very different from the stock one. As we fight our battles at ground level, we find this one is much more friendly.

Welcome, good Sir!

Fix bayonets, draw your sabre - whatever is your preference - we always need fresh cannon fodder for this  infinite war against the "other" side... funnily enough there seem to be no attempts at finding a diplomatic solution to this endless conflict...

Diplomatic solution? Outrageous.

Who is this milksop? Have him flogged by my groom and dispatched to the galleys!

A well-wisher

1. A headset is not required at all. Besides you might want speakers so your whole house can hear The epic conversations! lol!

2. The settings are on highest realism. The view from the saddle combined with couriers is probably the best real time simulation of time and space for that period.

Yes there is, but it's using a mod of the Gettysburg game for a change, not Waterloo.  If you have that too, you're very welcome to join us.  Game is due to start at 20.00 UK time, but we normally aim to collect in T/S about 15 minutes before.

More details, including a briefing, in this thread https://kriegsspiel.forumotion.net/t1373p420-regular-monday-sow-hits-games

Hope to see you there....

This game uses the Reisswitz Mod, which is based on the original Prussian kriegsspiel training game.  It features German-type Red and Blue armies of the 1860s.  It's therefore something of a hybrid between Napoleonic and ACW, with longer weapon ranges, but still with charging cavalry of various flavours.

You will need to download the latest version of the Reisswitz Mod v1.7 from here https://www.dropbox.com/s/9kps9s2p313krb6/KS%20Reisswitz%20v1_7.zip?dl=0

The mod includes a lengthy word document which gives you more information about the armies and tactics.

You will also need to put the latest version of KS SOW Supplemental Maps 1.09 in your GB Mods folder.  You can get that from the Napoleonic set-up page here https://kriegsspiel.forumotion.net/t1451-set-up-for-sowwl-napoleon-games-for-kriegspiel-style

I don't know how many players we will have, but it's normally relatively few on a Monday.  My guess would be just 4 or 5.  We often use the Monday games to test new ideas and new mods in a relaxed atmosphere.

The available commands are divisions (with a mix of infantry, cavalry and artillery), or infantry and cavalry regiments (of a number of battalions or squadrons).  Whichever you would prefer.

Hello Sir_Iron

Welcome.

Just to clarify, its for the SOW_Gettysburg game, not SOW_Waterloo.

Mondays are often for trying stuff out from different periods and mods.

Other periods played here include ACW, Marlborough, Fontenoy period, Crimea, Custer.

Plenty of Napoleonic games using SOW Waterloo mainly fri to Sunday but also adhoc games midweek sometimes.

Unfortunately i cannot make it tonight

sounds interesting, even besides gameplay or before getting started, discuss future ideas in all kind of performences of SOW W/G.
ok,...:Mod: i did install the KS Reisswitz v1_7.zip into Modd folder as i usefully do without issues Razz.
while starting the sandbox option,..game crashes always while useing "this mod".
any idea?

Yes it does. If it's not that, just check that you don't have some other mods enabled, which are causing a conflict.

Apart from KS SOW Supplemental Maps 1.09, Reisswitz is the only mod you need.

if you want to play tonight I simply suggest you show up in TS around 1930 BST - I'll be there - probably others too - and we'll sort this out!

Yes that's probably best.

A few things you might check first.  Sorry, these seem silly, but they are all mistakes we have made in the past  Rolling Eyes

1. You have put the mods in Gettysburg and not Waterloo

2. You have clicked twice on each mod, so that a yellow box appears to the left of each

3. You have the latest patch for G/burg, which is 1.61

Best of luck.

oh and while unzipping: make sure you don't have a folder "in-between" the actual mod folder and what shows up in the mod list... like an empty shell....

Hello Sir Iron and welcome to the Kriegspiel forum. You mentioned you were interested in a version of the Waterloo campaign but played multi-player. That isn't possible just yet due to no "ai=both" option in the WL campaign settings but if its a series of linked battles with consequences that interests you we are currently playing the Peninsular War as a campaign - the whole war that is. We began about 2 years ago in May 1808 just after the Dos de Mayo insurrection in Madrid by the Spanish and it is now February 1809. You are very welcome to join us. I have a number of Allied commands vacant at the moment.

Please see here for more information:
