Communications Between Cmdrs
Hello my good American friends!
I don't want to complain, but I'm afraid that some of our forces are getting a little low on supplies. I know that you are a very rich country, and no doubt have many many supplies available to you. Would it be possible for you to provide some supplies so that we can do our best against the North Vietnamese? Because right now our troops are largely immobilized because of the bad supply situation. But if you could act with that famous American generosity, we could be more effective.
We have managed to reestablish control over the Van Xa airfield, so perhaps you can use some of your very impressive large planes to bring in more supplies.
Thank you very much. We are so lucky to have such a nice country like you here to help us in our time of need.

Supply Situation

Hello Major. Yes supply is very difficult for both of us right now. I have requested from my superiors that supplies be flown in to Van Xa airfield directly. I will let you know if this is possible. If not I will arrange to transfer some supplies to you.
Can you tell me the disposition of your forces?
I thank you for your help in restoring Van Xa airfield to our control. My recon intel tells me that we have caused the enemy to lose many men. They are now concentrating around coordinates 25.5/60.5 around the river there. You should be prepared for a possible attack coming from that direction. Our main priority should be to regain control first of Hwy 1 and then Hue City.

Re: Communications Between Cmdrs
Hello LTC Cheatham,
Right now, I have some men at Van Xa, some more on Rte 1 and 68.5/26, and men and artillery at PK17. Which sounds good, except that I have very limited supplies for those units - not really enough to engage in offensive operations.
Is there anything that you Americans can do about this? You always seem to have some very nice supplies - I have seen your officer clubs and the great riches that appear in American movies! And we did give some supplies to American troops two days ago, before I realized how much of a problem it would be.
What troops and supplies do you have available to you?

Re: Communications Between Cmdrs
Dear LTC Cheatham,
One more thing to consider. You Americans are known worldwide for your amazing city fighting skills. Given that, it might be better for you to lead the attack into the city while we defend the roads into it. That might work best, given that we are short on supplies. I believe we have the troops necessary to hold the roads, once the NVA have been driven off of them.
Above all, it would help the morale of my men to see what a good job our wonderful American allies can do in such a difficult situation. It will make them happy to know they have Uncle Sam on their side!

Hello LTC!
We wish to report that we did a little probing action to the west of the city. We found that the enemy are firmly entrenched with rockets at Thon Kim Long (2) near 735/225. They seem to have secured their supply lines. We suffered some minor losses in getting you this information.
Thank you so much for all the delicious things you had at the planning meeting. How can we ever lose this war when our allies have such good chocolate!

It is time!
Major Nguyen,
Based on your intelligence concerning enemy presence to the west of the city, I believe we first need to cut off their supply route into Hue City. Therefore we will focus our attack on Thon Kim Long village at coordinates 73.5/22.5. Please provide a prep fire barrage at 0900 and have your troops and armor support my units as they attack starting at 0930.
Once we have secured this area, we will assess if an attack into the city through the west gate is possible.
Glad you enjoyed the chocolates. Actually they are from Belgium, left behind by your former allies, the French.
